How many bodies did they find in the boot not to give it back yet!?

I've had a car (pulsar n13) stolen a few years ago and then found by the police and was able to pick it up the next day where it was left gutted.

Some crappy new revenue raising scheme or something perhaps, but either way wtf!

Had a phone call from the police yesterday there waiting for a special police dog to come and go over the car

.... So they've had it for over a week and a half, charging you per day that they've had it... and they're still waiting on a sniffer dog to give it a going over...

I wouldn't pay a cent without a fight. Though you'll probably get defected for the missing interior bits if you try drive it out of their impound if you do :P

That has to be the biggest load of sh*t ive ever heard. Mate I feel for you man. What kind of insurance coverage do you have maybe you can claim this "fee" the cops are charging you on it as well.. but like odium said. Dont pay it without a fight. Fingers cross for you bud

The guy is known for taking skyline and painting them black he is from altona still waiting to get the police report and find out his name. Still a bit off work to do to the car have to replace the dash and both front seats some body work and the car has a bad miss after 4000 rpm

I would have thought for insurance reasons they would.

as in if you can give the thief details don't you no longer need to pay excess?

same as an accident if you can provide the details on the other party you no-longer pay excess?

I would expect that the insurance company would follow legal path to get details.

Can you PM me some details when you find out as I'm in Altona and this makes me nervous.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
