Hi guys, there has been a massive $6k price drop from $43,990 to $37,990 for my 2001 Silver R34 GTR (non v-spec). This makes it the cheapest R34 GTR in oz as of writing this.
Please note due to this, the price is non-negotiable and I am not looking to trade.
Selling because my partner and I want to start a family so I need to get a family car. 77,000 genuine kms.
It's also on carsales (put car id in keyword field 2258232 or http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-2001/SSE-AD-2258232/?Cr=0&sdmvc=1).
PM or call me if interested 0490 147 356 (Michael).
321 kw at wheels (approx 400 at flywheel), tuned by Racepace Motorsports. Passed compression test there with flying colours. Very smooth power delivery on the power curve. See attached dyno. Rare 2001 Series II model with nicer black interior.

Non-smoker owner. Well-looked after, always garaged. Comes with an English translation of original manual. I have never parked it outside overnight. Insured with Shannons. Only BP Ultimate and fully synthetic oils (Motul 300V/Castrol Edge) used. Driven rarely, only on weekends. Has never been in a major accident nor been to the track/in competitions, etc. There is no insurance for those events and I couldn't afford to repair/replace it.

I bought this from a motor dealer (his private car) in 2008 for a lot more than I am selling, when it had done 49,000 kms. I have serviced it regularly, (usually 6 monthly) with stamps, odometer readings, invoices from Chasers. All recommended maintenance work carried out with no expense spared. Mechanically A1.

Mods are virtually undetectable from stock-looking engine bay:

Upgraded Garrett turbo 2860-5 x 2 (can support up to 400 kw at wheels if you decide to upgrade engine internals in the future)
Apexi pod air filter
HKS Cam Pulley/Gears
HKS Fine Tune Timing Belt
NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
Splitfire coilpacks
Upgraded PWR 700 cc fuel injectors x 6

Nismo Super Coppermix Twin Plate Clutch
Apexi PowerFC with hand controller tuned by Racepace Motorsport
HKS split/dump/extension pipes
HKS Hi-Power cat-back exhaust
Remsa brake pads

New Ultima Red-Top 800 CCA battery
Xenon HID headlights
Black Widow car alarm & immobiliser
Apexi turbo timer

Aftermarket sound system: JVC KD-AVX2 head unit with 3.5" widescreen colour monitor/mp3/CD/DVD player and remote, MTX Thunder 3404 108Wx4 amp with test certificate, JBL 12" 1000W CS1204 subwoofer in custom-made enclosure in boot. It is directly connected to the chassis with high tensile strength 10mm removable bolts (no drilling), and is rock solid, so won't budge at all even under the most spirited driving conditions eg., if you wanted to take it to the track you wouldn't need to remove it first, although it is easily removable if you wish, and the spare tyre is still under it.

Almost new 265/35/R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2s/Super sports on original GTR rims.
Factory optioned (street legal) privacy glass rear window and rear 3/4 windows with street legal tinted front windows (Tint-a-car)
I have removed rear wing recently to improve rear view vision, but can re-install if you want. Rear wing comes included with car.
The car is in good mechanical and cosmetic condition as you can see also from the unedited carsales photos. There are a few minor paintwork bumps and scratches on the front and rear bumper from shopping centres/public carparks that aren't obvious enough to show up on the photos, but nothing unexpected and average for a 12 year old car that has been garaged. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page, so you weren't expecting a mint car for this price.
I still have all the OEM factory turbos, ECU, air intake, injectors, dump pipes, etc and they can be added for a negotiable price if desired. Otherwise I'll sell them separately for parts.

This car easily passed a RWC in Jan 2013, when I got one to see if I had to change anything to prepare it for sale (I didn't). It also does not attract unwanted attention as it looks stock.

Mine's the cheapest advertised price on carsales, so sorry can't go any lower. Check it out. I dunno where this 34k one is, but the owner's probably not serious about selling if he didn't put it on there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Do you price match if I find a cheaper one? Because I know of one for 34k :)

Nice car mate, GLWS.

That is NOT a genuine R34gtr. OP has the lowest priced 34r, a great price for series 2!

A person might...

* buy Phatboy's (Michael's) Non-V-Spec R34 GT-R

* plus HIRISK's (Shaun's) front diffuser, also F/S at the moment

* plus Import Monster's (Aaron's) choice of LMGT4s or TE37SLs

* all being in Melbourne

...and then it'll look like...

^^ another Non-V-Spec; which looks like...

Mate, not arrogant, just telling it like it is. Seriously, who is going to sell their car and not put it on carsales these days? The people who advertise in the hardcopy trading post?

And let me know where I can get this 22k R34 GTR. Sounds interesting.. How much work does it need? I'm assuming it's still a car with an engine and not a stripped out shell?

I dont see that as arrogant, and I asume you were talking about this one, Not half as clean and needsalot of work:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201005578906&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123

the bad (reason so cheap)

* sounds like bottom end knock (just started) suggest full engine build

* comp low (suggest ring and hone)

* paint pealing on roof and boot (no corrosion or rust that i can see)

* lumber support drivers side colapse (fat mate sat on it)

* gearbox hard to get into 5th, every other gear 100%, not noisey

* abs light on, im told a sesnsor is faulty

* needs a good clean some tlc

* dont have spark plug cover, timing belt cover, boot carpet and spare (ill have a nother look could be in a few places

Back on topic thoe, Super clean car mate good luck with the sale :)

    • Yeah, the latter. No diff should have a centre replaced without checking clearances because its unlikely to be the same as whatever came out. Not that that stops most people just checking a new centre in
    • Major thread necro but how bad of a job is it to DIY? Looking at it online it looks like if you reuse your ring and pinion as long as those are in good condition it should be fine to just pull the axles/front cover and replace the diff that way? Or should I be replacing everything and doing preload measurements/gear mesh testing like the factory service manual mentions for the rear diff?
    • in my list I had the R33 GTR as the best Skyline. Infact I had all GTR's (33>34=32), the NSX, the GTO, the 300ZX, the 180SX, the S15 better than the FD RX7. I had the MR2 and the A80 as 'just' better. I also think the DC5R Integra looks better but this is an 01 onwards car. I also think the FC>FD. It's almost like aesthetics are individual! The elements @GTSBoy likes about the FD and dislikes about the 180 are inverse in my eyes. I hate the rear end of the FD and it's weird tail lights that are bulbous and remind me of early hyundai excels. They are not striking, nor iconic, nor retro cool. The GTO has supercar proportions. I maintain these look much better in person (like the NSX) especially with nice wheels and suspension which is mandatory for all cars pretty much. Some (or all) of these you have to see in person to appreciate. You can't write a car off until you see one in the flesh IMO. Like most people we probably just like/dislike cars which represent certain eras of design or design styles in general. I also think the 60's Jag E type looks HORRIBLE, literally disgusting, and the 2000GT is nothing to write home about. FWIW I don't think the Dodge Viper Gen1's have aged very well either. You can probably see where I rate bubbly coupes like the FD. I know we're straying now but the C4 and C5 absolutely murder the Viper in the looks department as time goes on, for my eyes. Wouldn't surprise me if people who love the FD, also love the MX5, Dodge Viper, Jag E Type, etc etc.
    • I used to hate R31s, and any of the other Nissans that led up to it, and any of the Toyotas with similar styling, because of the boxiness. They were, and remain, childish, simplistic, and generally awful. I appreciate R31s a lot more now, but only the JDM 2 door. The ADM 4 door (and any other 4 door, even if they are unique compared to our local one) can eat a bowl of dicks. The Aussie R31 is also forever tarnished by their association with stereotypical bong clutching Aussie R31 owners of the 90s and early 2000s. I think the Nissans of the 70s (other than 120Y/180B/200B) are far superior looking to the 80s cars. The 240K era Skylines are boss. The same is broadly true of Toyotas. Hondas don't ever register in my thinking, from any era. Mitsus are all horrid shitboxen in any era, and so also don't register. Subarus are always awful, ditto. Daihatsus and Suzukis also don't generally register. They are all invisible. I think the SW20 MR2 looks fiddly. The 3000GT/GTO is like that but way worse. Too many silly plastic barnacles and fiddly gimmicks ruined what could have been a really nice base shape. Kinda-sorta looks like a big heavy ST165 Celica coupe (and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing). I think the 180SX is dreadfully bland. It's not bad looking. But it has no excitement to it at all. It's just a liftback coupe thing with no interest in its lines, and bad graphical elements (ie wide expanses of taillight plastic on the rear garnish). The S13 Silvia is a little better - getting closer to R32 shapes. But still....bland. S14? Nope. Don't love it. S15...a little better. Probably a lot better, actually. Benefits from not being like a shrunk in the wash R34 (where the S13 was a shrunk in the wash R32 and the S14 looked like a Pulsar or something else from the stable on Nissan mid 90s horrors). The Z32 was hot as f**k when it came out but hasn't aged as well as the A80. Keep in mind that I think the R33 is the most disgusting looking thing - and out of all the previous cars mentioned is objectively closest to my precious R32. It's just....real bad, almost everywhere you look. And that is down to the majority of what was designed in the 90s being shit. All Nissans from that era look like shit. Most other brands ditto. In that context, the FD absolutely stands out as being by far the best looking car, for reasons already discussed. Going behind the aesthetics, the suspension alone makes it better than almost any other car.
    • If they just called it the "Mazda Tiffany", it would have been spot on.
