Hey guys brand new to the Stagea and Nissan and Boosted world lol, but I have a question hopefully someone can shed some light on. I recently purchased a 1999 Stagea RS4 S Manual. The guy I got it from said it had an IMPUL remapped ECU when it came over from Japan. The question is can I get it done with NisTune over the top or do I need a whole new ECU ? Any help greatly appreciated and Ill be sure to post some pics of the new toy up soon as I get some :-D

An IMPUL remapped ECU would = a Nistune...

They both remapped the stock ECU's.

Fuel / Ignition settings etc... Have been modified / tuned for better performance.

But many factors car effect the ECU's tuning.

ie. The IMPUL ECU could have been tuned to Japanese Fuel...

Best is to remove it and get a Nistune done and tuned to our Fuel / Conditions etc...

You can't have both IMPUL and Nistune, just one.

A impul Ecu does not equal a nisstune! An impul Ecu is a basic chip alteration like a mines Ecu with set parameters like, maybe boost cut speed cut rev limiter change, maybe fuel and timing but none of these are adjustable "tuneable" as they are with a nistune . And neither of the systems are a piggy back because you are changing the actual Ecu settings, not interrupting the signal via a external Ecu

You will be able to send or take your current Ecu in and have nistune installed they will remove the impul chip board ect, if you know what mods your going to run and you go direct to nistune you can get a base map loaded on that will be very close to what yo need . I.e my mates rs4s

Z32, hyper gear high flow 3076, 3"turbo back exhaust, walbro Intank pump stock injectors fmic . Plugged It in turned boost up via controller from 5psi to 11 -12 for now car runs excellent straight out the bag , cold start idle and all

Cheers jase
