SimonR32
Hi guys, Have a set of CSC (AKA Bmax or Ark Design) brakes for my R32 GTR. They are 4 pot 343x32mm jobbies and I have managed to crack the disks so I need to replace them. I'm finding it difficult to find replacement rotors that will fit my current hats as the PCD appears to be (at my best ruler measurement) 222mm while the most common PCD for this size appears to be 215.9 and also 228.6. I guess my other option would to buy or have some new hats made with the more common PCD but that's starting to be big dollars. If all else fails I think I can get some replacements from Ark Design but as my current ones has cracked fairly badly I'm trying to source new options, any ideas or suggestions? Cheers Simon Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/436846-csc-bmax-ark-design-brakes/ Share on other sites
BBGTR
I've used these brakes for 7 years on my R32 (although they are 355mm 6 pot fronts) and have been through a few rotors. There are $750 a pair, which is pretty good value. The next real option is to go to Harrop and pay ~$1,000 each. They'll last longer however I don't think the extra life makes up for the cost based on my experience. Looking at your front rotors in your build thread, they don't look like BMAX originals as BMAX are all 36 vane. Did you buy the package new? I would confirm the PCD with Sebastian at Ark Design and go from there. ALCON and AP would also be other options if you really wanted to go with other options however I'm unsure of the cost. SimonR32
Thanks for the info. What's the best way to get in contact with sebastian? Hard to find contact details for ark design. The kit was second hand so not 100% on the rotors but the seller said they came I'd the CSC demo S15 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/436846-csc-bmax-ark-design-brakes/#findComment-7155322 Share on other sites

KiwiRS4T
Thank you for the details. These are the rotor cracks for those interested. How many km or track days did they last before cracking? SimonR32
I got them second hand at the start of the year and skimmed them to around 30.5mm. They have done about 8 track days since. They cracked at a track day in 40deg temperature so they have done a fair bit of work Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/436846-csc-bmax-ark-design-brakes/#findComment-7155521 Share on other sites
BBGTR
Given that track days are harder on rotors than racing, you have done remarkably well considering how much meat was taken off Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/436846-csc-bmax-ark-design-brakes/#findComment-7155643 Share on other sites

I've sent Ark Design a message on ebay, hopefully will get a response soon Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/436846-csc-bmax-ark-design-brakes/#findComment-7155849 Share on other sites
gmr
Kit came of my white S15, good to see them getting used properly Simon. They were on the car when I bought it from ARK (demo car). Fyi did maybe 1500-2000 street driving from memory before the car came off the road. Prior to that I'm not sure what ARK put them through.
