YES It’s on again!! Bigger and better than ever.

Driftzone June 27th Drift Competition at Queensland Raceway.

Presented by Driftzone, Queensland Raceway, Ares Speed, Revolution Racegear and Autoshop.net.au

Track entry is from 12 mid day. $10 for spectators.

Action starts at 1.00 pm for practicing, general monkey business and qualifying. Driftcomp in Battle format at 3.00 pm. $100 to enter for all events. First prize is a full bodykit from Ares Speed. Second prize is a K&N pod airfilter from Revolution Racegear and third prize is two of the latest Drift DVD’s from Autoshop.net.au. HPI and Driftbattle magazine, major TV stations and Briz31 will be there filming and taking photo’s. One of the many interstate entries includes the HPI Drift CA project Silvia with over 200kw at the tyres driven by Ben Ellis.

Also competing is Martin White’s over 900hp twin TO4 turbo “Eleanor with boost” 1967 Mustang Fastback. Sort of like “Gone in 60 seconds” but with real power instead of special effects, those of you who saw the car run at the recent Musclecar Shootout can attest to this. Should be very interesting to watch it go up against the SR20’s and Hachi Rocku’s.

Local lads Josh Young still fresh from his second placing at Driftland at Oran Park in his Hachi Rocku recently will be there and Serious Performance 7 coverboy [hehehe] Mike Tyler promises me he will be there although driving a Toyota ‘Carina’?!? [i just hope he is not getting brainwashed] as his green 180SX is still in development. Making sure the competition is fierce, April Driftcomp winner Shane Bingham in his Hachi Rocku will also be there making the “over 9’000 rpm crew” swell in numbers.

Battle format means two cars at once drifting inches from each other in a bid to impress the judges and you, the crowds.

You can now pay for your competitors entry to the event online on the www.driftzone.com website. A fantastic way to secure your spot for a shot at some great prizes. All you need is a credit card.

Also we are going to be having a sign-on day for our new Driftzone Club!! Members will receive exclusive benefits including a Driftzone longsleeved shirt [essential for when you need longsleeves to compete on the track with, or just swanning around at Treasury casino with freinds] , Driftzone full windscreen sized sticker for your car, Exclusive access to the members only section of the www.driftzone.com website, Invites to members only days at Racetracks and skidpans, discounts at club sponsor businesses and lots more. Cost is $100 for 12 months membership.

** Please note, if we could ask those who wish to join Driftzone club to arrive a bit earlier so that we can get this done before the main activities of the day take our resources. Either that or you can also join online at www.driftzone.com instead.

Will be a HUGE day and if it is anything like the last event, the action will be awesome. Remember to keep the 27th of June free and will see you all there!!!!

Some more prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd arrived in the mail today.

DRiiFT clothing has asked that we present the top 3 with one of the BRAND NEW DRiiFT hoodies.

These havent even been officially released yet, so the 3 winners will be some of the first people in the country to try out the new range of clothing from DRiiFT.

Of course, this is in addition to the Streeter by Streeter body kit for 1st, the K&N pod filter from Revolution Racegear for 2nd and the drift DVD's from Autoshop.NET.au for 3rd.

Are the competitor numbers restricted? Can we or do we need to confirm our places prior to the day to ensure we can participate?

The entrants are limited to 50 places, so its worth booking in advance.

You can book online at www.driftzone.com and either pay by credit card, by mail, or pay on the day.

I'm making some changes to the the "Join Now", and "Bookings" sections of the site today to make it more obvious that you dont HAVE to pay by credit card but can just make a booking via the site to save your place.

hey

Was at Qld Raceway this arvo, (before the drags opened) and Darren from Autoshop in 180GO, and Ben Ellis with the drift silvia on the back of the century (100VIP) rocked up for the drift meet tomorrow to sus out the place and take photos.

Pretty cool to meet Ben in person and see the century and silvia. he cooked his rear brakes on the trailer on the way from nsw.

should be a pretty good day tomorrow.

Matty

Well, todays the day peoples. It's gonna be HUGE without a doubt.

We hope to see plenty of you out there, and dont be shy, come and say g'day to us in the pits or over at the judging tent on the back straight. You might get to meet some of the members of "The Startline Club ". LOL

And make sure you get there by lunchtime so you dont miss a second of the action.

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
