How you going, My name is Owen, I'm from Warrnambool, Vic

At the moment I'm in the process of buying a R34 GT-T, I don't get my license back till mid feb so I have time to research it before buying one

This wont be my first High Powered Nissan

I originally built a VL Calais with a RB20DET , JPC did all the ECU wiring and original intercooling (mild steel pipes?) and at the time it made 120rwkw (stock as a rock)

after the first engine let go (timing belt tensioner snapped off) I put another RB2DET in it and this time put all new intercooler & stainless piping and put on a modded RB25 turbo which had steel wheels in it, It was tuned at Bresciani Racing and made 196rwkw @ 18psi and ran a 8.61 over the 1/8th mile

A while after the VL I had a Nissan Patrol SWB, TD42, DTS Turbo Kit, Intercooled, injector pump maxed out and ran 20 PSI , 36" Simex, Lifted, Locked up etc. (originaly the patrol had a big JPC kit on it but was removed by the original owner)

So after getting sick of the 4wd Buzz and 90% of every decent track getting shut up I decided it was time to go back to my roots and get a skyline which was something I wanted many years ago

welcome owen.

hope you find the car youre looking for.

when you do, definitely post pics.

in regards to the 4wd track comment, I think its ridiculous.

and I dont even 4wd.

I swear the government is trying to make it so anything other then driving from A to B in a stock car is completely illegal.

either way, welcome back to the car scene.

Always nice to welcome another VL owner (even if it is an ex-VL owner) to the forum. Good luck with the search for a new car and try not to be too disappointed when girls aren't piling up on your fence, scrambling to get in (World War Z style) like they would have done with the VL. :P

I would like to get a GTR but after looking what is available at a reasonable price 32's are still 16K + and 33's are 20k + , I would get a 32 but they are basically the same age as a VL and majority are in poor/average condition or had the best of their life flogged out of them, thats why I thought a 34 GT-T would be a somewhat better option, newer and lower km's

    • yeah I've never understood that either.... And to answer an earlier question, I write the date on open bottles and throw them if more than 12 months old (which they almost always are, because I don't need to bleed them unless I'm changing lines/calipers etc in between)
    • Nah, the one that hit the boot was a big steel locker, around 6 foot height, 4 foot wide and 2 foot deep, empty it weighs about 15kg and had about that amount of stuff in it The photo didn't give a good representation of the actual damage, the large ding on the passenger side was about a inch deep, the one on the driver was about 1/2 inch deep, right on the curve, where the inner boot frame doesn't let you get behind it with a dolly Basically the same issue with getting behind the damage on the centre of the boot We could have filled it all with bog, but my OCD would be triggered every time I looked at it, knowing what hides beneath  As for the locker, I did get the shits with it and put it in the scap metal bin, but, I pulled it out and it is now sitting in the garage at home full of car servicing stuff, cleaning gear and random tools, it's going to pay for it's indiscretions
    • Whilst I typically don't cheap out on things, if I can save some money, like $1000, on a clean straight panel, that gives me $1000 to spend on other stuff, basically free money really 🤔 🤣
    • Is the toolbox that damaged the boot seal the same item that fell on the car during the storm a while back?
    • Who are you to deny yourself? I’ve said this many times to myself and apart from getting what I really want, I go quiet for a while whilst working out what I just did to my savings and how will I afford what it cost, then, next payday…
