As I've said in a previous post, just bought an nm35. It's a great car but one thing doesn't work for me: the seat height/mirror combo.

I'm not that tall, 185cm last time I checked, but the mirror completely obscures a good portion of the left side of my windscreen. Any left turn or roundabout approach requires me to lean forward and crane my neck under the mirror - I got a bad back so something's gotta change. Anyone got this problem and solved it?

I'm think either I remove and re-adhere the windscreen mount up higher, and/or find an aftermarket mirror that's lower profile, or just mount the mirror via some custom method to the drop down sunglasses holder. ( yeah ok that might be a bit dodgy).

Another option may be to lower the seat, but not sure how practical this would be.

Interested to hear if I'm not the only one with this problem.'

I'm around 2cm shorter than you with a fat ass (it's a birth defect) and can honestly say, I haven't encountered this problem you describe. I have my seat all the way back, as low as it goes, and with a bit of lean (but not full blown gansta). My girlfriend says 2cm doesn't make a difference.

Re-positioning the mirror sounds like the easiest alternative, providing you can get it off OK?

Ok then I guess I'm a freak.

I have to say I may be contributing to the problem by having a bad back and needing the seatback straight up. Yes my head almost touches the sunroof trim, but it's gotta be done.

I'll see if I can take a decent photo to demonstrate how much it blocks the view.

Aftermarket seats could be an option; my Recaro seats are considerably lower than the OEM ones - my view is relatively unobstructed and I'm 195cm. You'll need rails etc, my car fortunately came with the swap over already done but some others have done it in the country and may be able to recommend suitable rails if thats the path you want to take

Standard seating position is gay in nm35s , when I hope from one if our c34s to the m35 it feels like I'm driving a school bus you sit up that high!

It's almost like youre driving a....... Family wagon...?

We should scold the nissan engineers for not giving it a low sports type seating position?

Yeah. All the talk in this section should be about baby seats and family issues....

Also, all the family issue and baby seat talk will go off topic anywa.... ohh f*ck...

Well, there has been a lot of M35 talk on anchor points...

Mine has a baby seat, and I got family issues :P

Are you positively annoyed friend??

I put a drivers recaro in mine. My head touches the roof with factory seats and im not a fan of the "commanding" seating position. Got the rail and seat both in mint condition for about 700 posted from brisbane.

Like scotty said it drops you easy 10cm if not more. Holds you in better.post-88192-0-57880400-1388997409_thumb.jpgpost-88192-0-69115900-1388997606_thumb.jpg
