Well I missed today due to not having any insurance I thought they would be do Just Cars not do auto renewals?

Auto renewal without any input from you? even though they can adjust your policy with anything that like at renewal time? no thanks jeff...

With the last insurance company I was with (AAMI) it would just click over and the policy would just keep going year after year and it was never adjusted it at all. Guess its my bad thinking Just Cars would do the same Oh well ring them on Monday!

I finally got a couple of laps in with my dodgy rear brake job. Best of the day was 2:02 which I wasn't happy with but still better than last time.

hey guys, yeah it was a great day. I really loved the cars setup and was having loads of fun throwing it around. got down to 1.55 in the last session. Just went one lap too many with tyres that were a little bit jelly like..............my bad.

the cams guy was laughing saying he has never seen anyone go off "that edge at Honda".........

car is at RPM getting TLC again.....waiting on the diagnosis.... hopefully not too bad.

cant wait to get out there again. Will be more respectful of tyre condition when power drifting next time.......

Yep, as Andrew said at the start of the day PI is killer on tyres at the moment. So two laps it all you should try for.

Another vote for AD08's. My car has no power and weighed in at ~1265kg with full tank/no driver on the scales at PI but the tyres have been brilliant. Best I've used on any car. If I had to complain, they're a bit noisy on average country roads but then the car is also a tin can with no sound deadening. They even did ok in the rain at PI though I was too chicken to push that hard.

Have done 10 track days from memory and about 15k on the street, they're still going. Some of the days were 20 min sessions and I just belt them from start to finish without issue. Again, serious lack of power is probably a significant factor there.

I counted the laps from Natsoft which didn't include SAU NATS Mallala or Hillclimb days, nor 1 or 2 DECA's.

PI - 155 laps

Sandown - 18 laps

Calder - 37 laps

Winton - 27 laps

So yeah, they might cost $50 or even $100 a tyre more than something else but its well worth it. Tyres and brakes are the last thing you should skimp on IMO.

What are you guys using for Jerry cans that don't leak or leak any smell?

Im guessing any steel ones?

I use the plastic ones from supercheap. No issues with E85 over the last year.

Yeah I have a 20L plastic one. Sometime can leak if not 100% upright, but my whole car stinks like petrol when I put it behind the driver seat

Mine never leak but the car always smells like E85 whether I have cans in there or not. You get used to it after a while.

Check the filler necks, quite often the top lip where the rubber seal sits isn't flat or true to the threads, I have found that giving them a quick going over with a sharp blade and taking away the high point and burrs makes a big difference to leaks and fumes.

mine are just bunnings ones and never had an issue,

had one from SCA prior and it leaked like a sieve from day 1

Is the club ready to start an Open Class yet or should we all just continue to go to PIARC events?
