Also some credit cards (VISA I know) can refund you the money themselves.  They then take it back off the entity that charged you forcing them to prove their claim.

Dunno how it would work with Paypal though.

That's right. Ferni, you should be OK if you paid via credit card. Dunno about INASNT though?? it's going to be hard proving you Bluetoothed 20G's to someone's account... maybe tell them you SMS'd the money intead, that should work :D .

tridentt150v: thanks, but i don't think my case is serious enough for that.

There is someone else who has pm'd me who got ripped by a bit more and has been in contact with a few different NZ authorities... i'll suggest it to him, thanks.

thanks meshmesh, I will try my CC company.

OK, but I would look at it like I was doing other 'would be suckers' a favour. Remember, the more complaints ahtcc get, the more likely they are to act and close this A*#@eh0le down. It just might save someone else from being 'had', look at it like its your good turn for the day.

Yeah i am definatly chasing it - not to get my money back just to get this prick ....

Just don't think ahtcc will look at my petty case, but your right the more they have against him the more htey will do - the other guy that pm'd me i offered that whoever takes on his case i will contact them and tell them my story to, so they know its not just a 1 off case

If you payed by credit card you are 100% fine.

Beleive it or not but you can dispute a credit card payment up to 12 months later. They will reverse the payment straight away and the funds will be removed from his account.

The credit card company will make the person who received the money prove the transaction is not fraudlulent to get there money back, not make you prove it to get your money. They would rather look after you as you are there customer.

Does anyone know what his name is. Sorry to say i think its kind of stupid to trust someone that you do not know. I only work Cash on delivery so i know i cant get screwed. Still that guy needs to be kiked in the arse for all this shit, he will get whats coming to him, dont worry!

Well the paypal transaction i used my credit card, it got taken out about 9-10days ago... I wasn't sure if i could do that.. i guess i can try - has anyone done it before?

Credit card transactions usually have some insurance attached....don't know if it coveres this though. However an e-mail to your credit card provider with full details of the situation could possibly result in them getting your money back, but do it now don't lose any more time

i paid a guy in brisbane via direct transfer.

ripped off to the tune of $1100.

sent me a worn standard clutch and some bogus midsection exhaust, for what was meant to be a hks twin and nismo front pipes.

contacted the brisbaine police computer crimes investigtion unit.... they approached this maggot face to face, he lied stating that it was his house mate and he has shot threw. police ring me to say "tuff titties". :D

someone should find out were these ****ers live

not exactly relevent

but a little story of my own :D

at my old work this guy used to come around and be pretty friendly and anyway was gonna sell us these mini discs from his friend at sony we were dumb and all paid like 500 each for like 1000 dollar machines...

never saw him again

but anyway one day

at my last job (working at a juice bar :) yes i know (like boost for those who dont know) anyway i was a team leader there, anyway the fat **** theif was all hot and sweaty n shit and he came for a drink and i barred him and told him to bring the mini discs first lol

he said all this shit pretending not to know what imt alking about and said his gonna get me fired and got the head office phone number...

never heard shit about it

sweet little revenge

ferni contact paypal and lodge a payment dispute form. Its actually quite effective. I've bought a couple of things off ebay from shonky dealers who either sent me pirated crap or nothing at all. One quick letter to paypal and 5 days later I have my entire amount back, no questions asked. They're awesome. If paypal fails, then you can get your bank to reverse the charge. That is if you have credit insurance.

Yeah, I thought there was a little bit of security when dealing with Paypal/Escrow. Hope you get your cash back Ferni. Reading through the NS.co.nz site is quite horrific - I remember when the Ray Mullany deal was going on, and I thought it all passed... I hope that snowboard I bought on eBay is going to come my way! :D

with COD you have to pay and sign before Aus post will hand you the parcel. What happens when you open it to find a housebrick?

funky - i lodged the paypal claim thursday, haven't heard anything yet but we'll see...

As for COD, i got a clutch COD'd the other day, picked it up i asked if i could inspect it first she said no...

it was fine - got it in today, all working fine :)

From a sellers point, I don't totally trust COD. I've sent stuff COD and then the idiot at the other end - the buyer who wanted the stuff in the first place - didn't collect. This means that the goods are sent back to me and I have to pay postage and charges and no sale. I now prefer direct deposit, or a direct deposit part payment and then COD for the rest.

Note that this sort of thing happens, not all the time, but it happens.

I've also tried to inspect COD packages prior to paying for them, and was told you can't. You should be able to, but the APO is just piggy in the middle and they won't play.

That happeneed to me a few years ago when i got a safc cod'ed to me. When i went to pick it up the box looked abit small so i asked if i could check what it was but a biach at aus post said no, so i said fine send it back i am not paying for something i dont know what is and started an argument with her when the post office was preety busy. Her manager heard and came over and let me check what was inside, and luckly i did coz it was some ***ing autometer boost gauge not a safc, so i sent it back to the guy who posted it and rang him up asking wtf he was trying to pull. He said he had sent the wrong thing to me and the safc was sent to sydney or sum crap and he said he would send it back and make a note that i was allowed to check the parcel before payment.

A week later i went back to same post office, checked before i payed and it was infact a safc this time.

yeah i'm guessing if i kicked up a stink they would of let me check... i didn't because i already had some trust for the guy sending it to me,,, and he didn't rip me off luckly :(

now for this graeme fckwit, if i get my hands on him...

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
