I know they are quiet and very different, but this is the future guys.Just look how well the electric cars went at Pykes Peak last year and also the fastest electric drag bike isnt far off Top Fuel bike times.Anyone used a latest technology electric remote control car lately, yes they can beat the little petrol ones now.Wont be long until one can beat a petrol powered F1 car.Sorry guys its just the way it is.Electricity has huge amounts of potential power,we are just learning how to store at properly.

The problem I see is most people actually like that race fuel smell and the sight of flames flowing out the exhaust, exhust pops between gear changes, fuel catching on fire during pit stops etc etc. I wish these nobs with more money then sense would put more money into Hydrogen Based fuels and STOP dicking around with Electric Cars and the like.

With a world so dependant on Fossil Fuels which in turn is also used for Creating Electricity this just seems stupid. Reason why is if EVERYONE was to drive an Electric car the demand on Electricity will go throught the roof, more fossil fuels to be burnt to create more electricity to power all these Electric/Power demands. So saving the Earth from ZERO exhaust gases is pointless unless they can create a CLEAN or GREENER way of powering up these electric vehicles and better disposal of the batteries.

I may be totally wrong in my thoughts but thats just how I see it.

My mate has one and the thing is ridiculously fast.. You can be going along at almost top speed for a long distance, then pin the throttle and the car will still stand up on the rear and flip itself lol

  • 7 months later...

Their "Pit stop" involved jumping out of the car at lap 14, and getting in another blender to finish a 25 lap race.

Hardly enthralling entertainment.

Because batteries went flat?.....they should have a 24 hour race...he with the biggest battery charger wins....

Classy work from the other driver just to walk away without even looking to see if Nick was OK.

Can't believe he was able to clamber out and run after a shunt like that! Scary looking stack!

and that's the most exciting thing that will ever happen in F.E.

treaded tyres? FFS

    • And I don't want to crap on their enthusiasm, but goddamn that is dumb. The money they're paying, for crapy old Dattos, then having to scrounge to find parts (and, being Seppos, they simply MUST upgrade and/or factory restore every single part of the car within 2 weeks of buying the car!) is just silly. "Oh, it's my dream car!..." </wistful, dewy look in the eye>
    • I agree, and it is already happening if you look at the new members from the USA, lots of GTTs and even GT no T being picked up because they find/afford a GTR
    • How you pulled your fuel filter and split it open to take a look inside of it?
    • I removed the fuel pump to take a look at the tank. The sender unit is very rusty.   Took a look at the tank and it is also quite rusty.  Right at the base of where the fuel pump sits, there's a buildup of what seems to be rust particles. I did find new OEM fuel tank (17202-01U01) and sender unit (25060-01U00) from amayama which would set me back around €900 including shipping and customs. I most likely would need a new fuel pump as well. I'm going to be honest, I have been driving for around 6 years now and this is the only mechanic I went to apart for once (Last year I took my Porsche 924 to a guy who specializes on them). I've got a good relationship with him and he's always there to assist, even coming over to my garage at times for my convenience since the car was not starting. I believe he's got over 20 years of experience, but this is not the first time he let me a bit down on some basic diagnosing. I do not want to switch over to someone else, but I'd be lying if I said that it did not cross my mind.
    • If the GTR keeps climbing to ridiculous out of control prices, it will drag the GTST up as time goes on. Those who cant drop silly $ on the GTR, will then start to drop big $ on the GTST.
