R34 Gt-T Startup Noise

Hi guys,

I get a weird screeching type noise everytime I startup my R34 GT-T.

I have recorded a video of the startup:

(as soon as it starts up you'll hear the noise, you may need to turn up your speakers)

It's not as noticeable after the car has been started up recently.

I'm thinking it's either a belt that's too tight or a starter motor issue.

Any ideas?

Hard to hear, but would most likely be your water pump/alternator belt, which has the most load on it.

Oh ok. I'll check the tension on the alternator belt to see if that's the issue. Hopefully it's not the water pump :\

When I say water pump/alternator belt, I mean the same thing. The belt runs off the crank and turns the water pump AND alternator. Dead water pumps usually just leak, they don't squeal. Over tightening the belt can kill the bearings in the water pump though, so don't overdo it.
