2003 Salomon Synapse Mens Snowboard Boots US9.0 EUR42 2/3 UK9.5 CM27.0

RRP ~AUD$500

Bought new in Japan Jan 2003, tag seen in photo

Only used for approximately 1 week on the slopes, these boots even smell new. There's minor damage to the right boot foam from lift queues (see photo), but any used boot has wear marks. It doesn't detract from the functionality, nor compromise stability.

Synapse is Salomon's second-best snowboard boot, only one below the flagship Malamute model.

The versatile Salomon Synapse snowboard boot is suitable for all-mountain riding at all levels and is designed to provide a combination of comfort and support. Ready for any mountain aspect, the Synapse is Salomon's most versatile and adaptable boot. A Customfit 3D liner and naturally flexing digital sole conform to any type of shredding. Strong envelopment and extra forward and lateral support create a bastion of self-assurance.

The Synapse will keep you comfortable day in day out. Stiff uppers for powerful toe slides and a flexible soul for the trek back to the chalet. Salomon's auto-fit foam dials the fit, Quicklace liners keep down your heel and dual diameter laces save your hands. Don't spend the day tying laces ever again. The one-pull Quicklace system keeps the inner boot securely fastened and a high-abrasion rubber sole offers grip in all kinds of terrain and temperatures. Aluminium foil lined, heat is retained within the boot and sub-zero temperatures kept out.

Bottom Line: With a moderate flex, the Synapse is a bit less aggressive than the Malamute, and represents a great choice for low intermediate to low advanced riders.

In the few times I've used these boots, I never experienced cold feet, even in -10C temperatures. And although sized too large for my feet (thanks Mr Japanese salesman!) they're supremely comfortable. The tiny amount of movement I get tends to cause a small blister after a solid day on the slopes, so for me it's time to get some correctly sized boots. I'll be replacing with a smaller sized Synapse without a doubt.

You owe it to yourself, buy these boots and have the most comfortable ride you've had on a snowboard.

I'm looking for $220 ONO
