R33 Spun Bearing

So my friends has a 96 R33 GTR that recently the engine spun a bearing does anyone have any idea how much that should cost to get it fixed?

You wouldn't just fix the bearing, it would be a full rebuild, so price that up.

It's never a sure price when these things happen. Spun bearing means you might as well rebuild the engine seeing as it'll be pulled apart anyway. You'll have the price of the parts (bearings, pistons, piston rings, rods etc.), then labour will be split into things like removing and replacing the engine (which I've seen quotes of $1000+ for this), then machining costs and assembly (around $1500 for just assembly). There's no straight answer but these are the kinds of figures your friend can expect. Along the way there will most likely be miscellaneous costs for random bits here and there.

Would it be safe to soon that it could be fixed for under 3K? what would it cost in the hypothetical worst case scenario?

It depends if you are going to be able to do any work yourself like pull the engine out and put it back in.

3000 won't cover it if paying for everything.
