hey guys i am new to all off this kind of stuff but i am looking at a ecu for my car but i was wondering what is the major difference of a plugin comparied to a standalone one any feed back would be great i am looking at the vipec plugin ecu for the r33 gtst

Dependent on the brand as well, but a lot of the plugin units will come with some of the normally optional extras like DBW, VVT and the like included in the standard unit, if the car needs those functions to run, compared to the same unit as a standalone that you then have to option up.

Also the plugins are much quicker to install.

If you are new to all this be aware that you won't be plugging in your Vipec yourself - you need to get your tuner to install and tune it. Find your local distributor/tuner and go and have a chat.
