Running Temp Of 350Rx

Hey!

thanks for all the great info on the beard

My recently purchased 350rx seems to run quite hot - it takes very little time for the temp guage to climb to 50% or so, where it stays. However even after a very short drive the motor has heated quite considerably, a lot more that previous cars I've owned. Is this to be expected?

They do run quite hot compared to older cars, over 100 degrees is normal this time of year.

As Scotty said they do run hot. And they generally sit half way up the standard gauge

Mine sits on the lower bulb part of the little thermometer.

The fans kick in at 98-100 degrees. It's wise to give the system a little bleed now and then if in doubt.

Bleed the cooling system, meaning get the air out of the system.

If it hasn't been done correctly, there will be a heap of air trapped in the system, and it won't cool effectively.
