It only has 280nm of torque. Which is bugger all considering its pumping out 400hp.

Did you mean 380nm? That's what the article states, but it doesn't really matter, as it's a hybrid, torque is what electric engines produce effectively, so it would be easy to use the hybrid system to pull out of slow corners, and let the motor take over on the straights at the best rpm.

It only has 280nm of torque. Which is bugger all considering its pumping out 400hp.

F1 car's don't make much more torque, and pump out double the horsepower. Moot point. Hopefully this engine will have that extra racing pedigree you're after.
