funny noise from my 32 gts-t

Hi guys,

ive been hearing a funny noise coming from my car and it sound like a kettle on the stove under heat but not whistling. Sorry thats the only thing i could think of to describe it. I notice it when im slowing down or rolling in my driveway.

Acouple of times when it has occured I have pressed the clutch and the sound has gone away although once when I pressed the clutch it didn't do anything.

Its really bugging me

I think it could be the thrust bearing

what do you guys think?

yeah pretty sure it sounds like the thrust bearing. i got the noise on mine really faintly when the clutch is depressed and i'm sitting with the car in netural. nothing really too big to worry about.

Yea its the thrust bearing, mine is the same. I'm too lazy to change it though.

how do you check if it is, I've got a sligh bearing like noise comin from under my steering wheel...?

with mine i had a thrust bearing noise and got it changed wen i had to change my gearbox, and this noise is different (its louder). Can thrust bearings make different noises?

the noise sounds like something is loose sort of airy and there is a tiny squeel, sometimes i press the clutch and the noise stops when the clutch is pressed in.

sometimes i press the clutch and it doesn't make a difference.

yes, different clutch bearings can make different noises depending on whats wrong with it, whining it caused by uneven wear and clunking is caused by either a dodgy person installing the clutch or the car has been sitting for a long time, the clunking ones are really annoying. it sounds like someone is under your car with a spanner hitting the gear box which gets quicker when the revs increase.
