Warnings?

I was given a warning in the QLD events section for mentioning another car club/forum.

Can someone please explain how the system works, how a warning is given/why and what the end result of recieving a warning is?

how does one know if they've been given a warning? I assume email, but just checking that you do get notified of them. Is there a way to check my personal total/tally of warnings?

...And 99% of users (everyone without any forum authority) have these links to warn and view with no purpose but to be told that they don't have permission. Or is it just so everyone's aware of warnings?

It's an administrator/moderator feature i belive.

yes you will be notified by PM if you are warned....its just a system to try and keep things under control....if you accumulate 20 points you get banned automatically for 2 weeks.

so what if someone else whores on a thread, and u just respond to it...?

eg: Thread asking about brakes

then someone else mentions a turbo and then people respond to it, do those people who respond get warnings?

Is there a use by date with the warnings? I dont think its totally tragic if you accumulate 20 pts over 18 months to 2 years for example.

I agree... I think the warnings should have an expiry date too...

Moderators do. We recieve warnings just like the rest of you.

Regarding checking points - you can click "view your warnings" under the Quick Links menu ^ up there.

This is just going to be a fair system for people instead of mods personally PM'ing somebody twice about the same thing etc... just helps us keep up to date with it.

Regarding the links - I will mod that so that only the mods who mod that section can see it.
