Does This Humble Guard Cover Have Racing Pedigree ?

Hi guys I manged to pick this awesome Retro Nissan guard cover up on gumtree for a measly $20!!! The seller didn't know a whole lot about it and I've attempted to do some research on the net but haven't had a whole lot of luck. My main questions are is there a chance this guard cover was used by the factory Nissan or Gibson motorsport team back in the australian touring car championship days ? Or could it just be an old custom guard cover that's someone's whipped up?

Has a badge saying "supplied by SPX-litchfield tools " perhaps they were the main tool and workshop equipment supplier back then?

They look like sew on shirt badges you that are common on shirts back in the day.

well litchfield the GTR tuners in UK started in 1998 so doubt it anything to do with Gibson.

Looks more like some-one got a couple iron on badges and put them on a car cover.

most of the ones I've seen are printed not badges.

still for $20 not bad, i'd have paid that

Hrmmm ok interesting well the guy I bought it off he said he'd had it for 15 years and was given it by a mechanical workshop he'd worked in it seams to be quite old has a foam backing and looks to be well used the patches are sewn on also. So litchfield in the uk was that a tool company sponsored team?

litchfield is a GTR tuning company from UK.

so that logo prob worth more than the cover

Il tell you exactly where it came from,any gtr licenced dealer, I used to work at a gtr liceneced dealer that sold some of the oz delivered 32s, those guard covers were part of the tooling required to have the licence .

one of the guys still uses it now!,its abit ratty though
