Yes I could hear the hissing right away. Fixed those 2 and the pipe will be welded buy the end of the day. The reg on the air compressor said 15 psi but when I connect to the car the pinholes wouldn't let it get over 5 psi according to boost guage. Unless I opend up the reg heaps more. Once it's all back together I'll run it up higher and see what happened.

Everything is now fixed bar my to injector seals that I will get fixed tomorrow. Anyone think these problems would have drastically effected my performance readings and boost drop?

Glad to hear you found all those leaks mate. With so many I assume they would easily leak a couple of pounds and as you said you could only get the gauge to read 5psi.

Once all the leaks are fixed and you've had a play with the boost controller, let us know how you go.

or could've let the boost ramp up higher until it was leaking down to the desired pressure :ninja:

And put the temp probe in a cup of hot water to get a 300rwkw graph, then everyones happy!

Everyone's wise afterwards, the reason its fixed is because of DriftSquad doing a great job with diagnosing the

leaks.. from what I read there wasn't many explanations except the housing was too small?? so if a tuner says

a 0.63 GT3076 cant do more than 225kw, then yes ill try someone else thanks...

Ive been thru probably 3-4 so called great tuners in Brisbane, some are highly regarded etc.. and one thing that

remains clear is that if your not spending big $$$$ they simply don't give a sh#t..

yep... a good tuner would of fixed all his leaks for free and still shouted him a beer afterwards.. :whistling:

I got made a cuppa tea if that counts, lol..

a good tuner would of know a 0.63 can do way more than that and suggested testing it for leaks to start with instead of blaming it on the housing??

I'd say often the reason people are taking a car in that state to someone to get tuned is because they aren't confident about how on top of the whole building/tuning a car process they are - otherwise they'd be doing it themselves

how could you give a shit...im sure it happens all the time... fixing d.i.y er problems, im sure its been worse since drifting started..

a high percentage are thrashed out shitboxes..

people need to take ownership of there cars problems..if they put it together...

or they can pay $70+p/hr for someone else to go through it for them and cop it in the chin

f**k being a tuner for a living..

cheers

its not the tuners responsibility to fix your cars f**k up's. his job is to put the car on the dyno and tune it the best that he can in the condition that it is in.

nothing worse then a internet f**k tard running around screaming "bad tuner, shit tune" bla bla bla when he will never be in the tuners situation to understand what it is like.

IF the workshop quoted the setup, and put the whole car together + supply parts and then there was an issue like this then it would be their responsibility to fix the issues without making any excuses and most of them would.

Thats the problem with back yard slapped together setup's, you never know what you are going to get so be prepared for a long road of f**kup's and multiple tuner bills until you get it right.

stop blaming the tuner, if he suggested the rear housing could be the issue then it was just a suggestion, he is not a god to know exactly what the issue is straight away ffs!! be happy he gave you some suggestions to start with to fix your piece of shit or leave it with the workshop and pay the hourly rate for them to diagnose it for you.

Now I'm not sure if that's being directed at me or not. But if you read my first posts I said I like my tuner. I drive an hour out of my way to go to my tuner. He has done many of my cars and my friends high hp cars. I regard him as one of the best in the country. It's my fault there were leaks in the inlet system as I assembled the motor and build. I'm sure we have all left a vacuum line off once? And I'm sure we have had some split before? In saying that with all the induction sounds and wastegate sounds it would be nearly impossible to hear the leaks. Iv never had this issue before. I don't blame anyone but my self.

Also I took on his advice about trying a bigger rear housing (anyone have an .82 gt30 housing with 4 bolt flange)

I also wished to seek others advice on this forum that's y iv posted the question and took in everyone's advice!

Now the comment is right about it's not his job to fix the problem when it's on the dyno unless your willing to pay for it.. But he defiantly will. On the day my fuel pump

Let go and he stopped the clock and let me install new pump on the dyno. He also supplied the parts and advice.

The service is great and I will only highly recommend him to anyone!!

I think I'm getting closer to my issues with the new build and thank everyone for there input.

Iv been busy with work so I have yet to install new injector seals but I'm on it tomorrow.

Followed by another pressure test.

Will keep you all posted!

was not directed at you. just some comments made by other users, its just frustrating reading comments that slanders workshops when its just not needed.

Yes he is a great tuner, even on a bad day i am sure he would never let a "shit house" tune out of his workshop if it was within his control.

keep the .64 housing, just fix the other issues and take it back to him and explain to him all the issues you have found and I am sure he will be happy to look after you on the re-tune knowing the issues have been resolved.

good luck with it, look forward to your results.

Just paid a visit to my tuner He has my RB25DET auto with forged pistons / rods / 4" exhaust / steel turbo with Garret internals with china out / FMIC and stock everything else . the turbo is running 0.63 AR turbine side and he could only make 241bhp - then the boost dropped off 1 bar down to 0.6 .. He is sending the turbo to his engineers to convert to 400BHP BUT HE HAS NO IDEA OF WHAT DIMENSIONS WILL BE USED ???

the tuner found some leaks to start with and fixed them - he charged ! - he also charged me double what i was quoted to install the nistune board ! £400 + board - not the £365 inc tune and board fixing quoted by another company !!

I have found that asking what system the tuner likes to use is a good start !! as here in UK some do f/con some hate it - all do Nistune .

so to sum up in my cas runs .63 turbine housing and is limited to 250bhp at 1bar ! ? ! ,

i have READ that 0.82 will deliver constant strong boost at higher rpm , but then i will loose some early spool up ( hits 1 bar at 2,650rpm now - good for auto box ) so do I do the obvious and think the turbine wheel needs to be 0.73 to get best of both worlds , or am i wrong and to strengthen the high rev boost pressure is done in another way ??

    • Hey was wondering if you ended up installing the R33 GTR speed sensor - I found one too and wanted to confirm it's a direct swap into the R34 6 speed?
    • After 23 years of owning a Skyline, finally had the latch go.  Followed this guide,  works like a dream again. Great Guide 👍
    • Hi all,   I’ve got the biggest lot of problems with my R33 GTS-T   It was a freshly rebuilt 25th anniversary RB25DET (plastic cas, neo cams) probably 6 years ago now   The engine was running so well but I fkd up badly and trusted someone I’d known for 10 years that was well known around Plazmaman for his welding and fab work. I added a lovely photo of some of his previous work. Not sure why my car was worked on by whoever did this shit     I’m normally someone who would never open myself up to something like this, I still can’t believe I did it. Trusting him literally fkd it all up for me. Everything has been a struggle, like it’s almost been 6 years that’s how much I’ve just on and off been trying to work it all out.    All I wanted was a car that danced down low, like full boost from around 3~3500rpm to redline, don’t really care what power it puts down (if it ever does) but I just wanted it to be quick to get on it.    He recommended the turbo to get, I picked Hypergear but he told me to get the front 4” with a T4 and 0.68 rear housing.    I was expecting all these beautiful welds, tidy fab work and paid for it to be ready to go to a tuner when I got it back.    I got a car back that was an absolute mess, I actually couldn’t believe it was my car anymore. I don’t think you could even call what he did welds, they’re disgusting.    So I stripped everything he touched off it and with every bolt I loosened it just got worse and worse.    I covered it and literally built and finished another car in the meantime but now it’s getting to the point where I really want my Skyline back.   Its a struggle because I paid him to do all this shit because I didn’t know how to and now I’ve had to try and figure it all out omg    Please excuse the bird shit horrible welds, I’ve got my show pony car and am so beyond dealing with this car I don’t even really care at this point.    If someone told me about what he did to my car I wouldn’t have believed them but it happened to me. It was unbelievable. He went missing, my car went missing, it came back missing parts, the straight af chassis rails bore the scars of being dragged up a trailer backwards, even the sandwich plate was bent. Everything was leaking and open to whatever fell into it, rounded off/ missing bolts, power steering oil and coolant everywhere, no gaskets, parts stolen off it, even managed to damage the sump pan.   Promised me he’d finish the car, knew what it meant to me, I paid him thousands and thousands just for him to trash it. He told me he was fully licensed and insured, come to find out he’d cancelled his ABN, so obviously no insurance. I had laid up insurance on the car and would’ve been covered but I was scared they would’ve written it off or because the business was no longer trading I’d still be liable.    He was supposed to:  New fully custom mild steam pipe exhaust manifold with turbo location moved from factory position to high forward mount. (I don’t know if it is a mild steam pipe, I’ve got a funny feeling the waste gate isn’t in a very good position and I don’t think the outlets off each cylinder are equal) 4” custom stainless steel dump with external gate (he re-plumbed it) Cut and shut OEM intake manifold with throttle reposition (I ended up doing the throttle reposition) Box in pod filter (left out) New 100cel catalytic converter (pretty sure it’s there but unsure if it’s 100cel) Front mount intercooler piping fabricated to suit (all smashed up and rusty holes where he was supposed to make it look standard where fmic piping passes through. I don’t even think my front bar is going to fit 🙄) Custom 5” intake pipe from pod to turbo (didn’t come with it so had to do something to make it work with the Z32 afm)   Engine: Full cylinder head service & machining  Brand new valves Precision upgraded spring kit Engine block honed New bearings  New piston rings  New ARP conrod bolt kit New ARP head studs Cometic head gasket VRS kit   ATR43SS2 ball bearing turbo 0.68 rear housing  Turbosmart 45mm external wastegate (got delivered to the fab bloke, I’ve got no idea what spring is in it, I’m assuming the one that came pre installed) Walbro 260 fuel pump  Nismo 740cc injectors (tested to 880) Spitfire coil packs GCG FMIC RB25DET manual 5 speed 4:11 rear diff   I’ve got an Apexi Power FC in it atm, I was hoping to just get it to operating temp to make sure everything was okay before towing to a tuner but it’s over-fuelling too much. I don’t think that’s going to happen so i think I’m going to get either a Link G4 or Haltech for it. What do you guys recommend? I can’t work out the power FC so just gonna give up on that one     It’s got an exhaust leak coming from somewhere I can’t see 🙄    The fuel pressure was steady but now it like drops from 40 to 20psi randomly (noticed this yesterday)    I’ll attach pics of the shit he put on my car and the engine bay now as it sits    I really just need some help, I need a tuner in Sydney I can trust, I’d like to be with the car while it’s being tuned if possible, I know it looks terrible but unfortunately I’ve just got to put up with it for now and fix the cosmetic stuff later   Do you guys think the manifolds are going to be okay? Or do I throw the exhaust manifold and try again?   I don’t even think these combinations are going to work tbh   I know everything I fitted was rated to be able to take at least 400kW but most rated higher    If you’ve gotten this far I really really appreciate it 🙏 I don’t mind if you trash me or the car, I made a rookie error and f**k I’ve paid for it. As you’ll see 🙄
    • From everything I’ve heard you’ll be waiting a long time for  the parts to arrive
    • Have you looked at the workshop manual?
