Turbo Compressor Shaft Play

Hi

I have a noise coming from my turbo. My mechanic said he checked the compressor shaft play and he there was no excess movement.

Is there much work involved in checking this as he charged me nothing.

I am not mechanic, however, I would think it would take some time in dismantling all the piping around the intake side to check for shaft play.

I think you need to give us more info on the car. What turbo ect.

if its coming from your turbo area and your mechanic has checked the turbo shaft play then i'd suggest it could be a gasket leaking...either the turbo to exhaust manifold gasket or the manifold gasket itself...what noise is it making?
