Lane Filtering For Bikes Legalised

So it was announced today that as of the 1 July bikes will be legally allowed to lane filter

Which means I no longer have to sit in a line of traffic watching my bike overheat cause I don't want to run the risk of getting caught and fined

Never stopped me, I will always take my own personal safety over some stupid law, or pissed off jealous drivers.

Smart move imo, it's not like they could catch a lane filtering bike safely anyway.

It will be very interesting how this plays out.

I don't understand how lane filtering is safer than sitting stationary in a line of traffic, and that seemed the main argument for it. I've heard about the study too.

I don't have a problem with bikes lane filtering when vehicles are stationary at all, but strongly oppose it when any vehicle is moving. After the father in law saw a death in such circumstances, I don't think it's wise. People change lanes very quickly, and without warning in traffic. So be careful guys.

Speed limit of 30km/h, so I'd say only when cars are stationary at traffic lights

And so we dont get rear ended sitting at traffic lights

I personally do t do it unless there is a clean and clear line through and my bike is getting hot cause believe me you want me to hit your mirrors as much as I want to scratch my bike
