Hey Guys,

Well I suppose it was inevitable owning a Skyline that it would eventually be stolen.

Car got stolen on Thursday morning 27/2/2014, I walked out the door at 6:45am to find it missing, got through to the cops at 7:30am with the location of the car showing on the installed GPS tracker, my car was recovered with some ignition damage and 2 crooks were arrested in action by 8:30am, the car was only 4 blocks away.

Hilarously one guy bolted and the cops chased him down through some neighbours yards, I hope they ruffed him up a bit.

I'll post more when I can but the company I got the tracker from is a startup called Galaxseek based in Perth and I am very happy with the performance of the device as it tracked them to within 3 metres.

I highly recommend anyone with a skyline/performance car start seriously thinking about a GPS tracker or it's going to get stolen and parted out by some low life piece of shit.

Agreed. Vic section is that way ^

Hopefully your first post is legit, not just pushing one of your products... Owners of GTR's would usually have a higher post count as they constantly need repair. :P

I was interested enough to google the company and didn't find much info.

Just wondering why would anyone go to the trouble of installing a GPS tracker but not have a proper security/immobilizer system to stop the thieves in their tracks?

Only ignition damage? You're basically telling us the car's bare bar the tracker. That's sus, I'm sorry. Pay the vendor fees so you can promo your shiz please :verymad:

Lol so much suspicion on the plug, now I wish I took photos of the damage.

I'm fairly sure my battery ran flat and they wheeled it out of my driveway, when the cops grabbed them everything under the steering wheel was gutted with wiring hanging out and the glove box hanging ajar with my apexi power fc controller on the seat, in the engine bay the siren had been ripped out an cut.

And yeah maybe I shouldn't have plugged the gps dude as he's starting up a new company, meh don't care whether you look him up the main thing is gps rocks.

On the post count thing I don't really post, just skim the parts threads for the next upgrade mostly, touch wood to date I've only blown an engine when the stock oil pump exploded and got that repaired at Japanese performance centre plus a radiator bust it's guts but I replaced that with a mate.

I don't think you can blame people for being a bit suspicious.

Good to hear that your got your car back though, that's great news :)

Thanks for posting Zoros.. was my old car and yes the post is legit.. check my post count to find the issues that were resolved on the car.. I was the one who found the car for him and yes I went overboard on the security of it. the downside is that if the car is not driven much the battery does get drained after a while. Worked when it counts, and I guess thats all that matters.. When you get it back from the cops let me know and we'll re-wire it a bit differently this time..

    • Meh, At 60 years old, I have been doing dumb stuff for much longer than you mate, I am the true King And unfortunately I cannot be a maroon, as I am not brownish red As for not getting ITB's, the plenum intake will apparently show typical gains across the board and increase induction noise a bit, but, have all over less dort than ITB's Cost difference for the extra ITB dorts was significant though, the total parts for the plenum set up is "around" $2kAUD plus shipping, the ITB's were $4kAUD plus shipping, I was contemplating really hard about paying the extra $2k for all of the dorts, but weirdly, some form of common sense, from listening to the platform experts prevailed  As for the NA mod hate by some, I've had a few boosted cars, with all their inherent issues, I'm now looking at simplicity and legalities for a street car, maybe I'm just getting old, and I'm quite happy to spend some of the kids inheritance, 5kw at a time 馃ぃ And think of all the money I'll be saving on consumables that something with boost needs, like engines, gearboxes, diffs, clutches,  tilt trays... etc. etc. etc. 馃お
    • Haha.  I wouldn't say I am either but I've definitely been around it plenty.  I'm guessing you know the dial in is basically to make a handicap to level the playing field between racers.  The car with the slower dial in goes first and in theory if they run their dial in time and the faster car also does then they cross the finish time if they also have exactly the same reaction time - if you go faster than the dial in them you lose, but if you are too slow there's a good chance the other person will get to the finish line first. I'm normally supporting other cars but they were all pretty dialled and were egging me on to race as well, here's one of the cars I tune (Starlet) which ran within like 1 hundredth of its dial in through the competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inEBu-d9Gn4&t=69s
    • Where ever the fuel reg gets it reference is what I use to T into for map reference been a very long time so where it goes to plenum/runners I have no idea but never had issues.
    • What ecu? Same shop every time? Same ambient temperature? If timing is correct then pull plugs and see if lean or rich. Dyno can also read different if they have changed ramp rate or not set tacho/speed properly
    • I've never done dial in's just straight up, whatever that's called. I'm far from a drag (racing ) expert.
