Badgaz
Hello again, I'm wondering what is required to fit a wideband o2 sensor in place of the factory narrow band? i have a powerfc... if this is not the ideal location for a wide band...what is? thoughts? i'm tossing up buying an innovate wideband kit but trying to decide between a permanent install with gauge and input into the fc datalogit or..just go for one that i can move between cars with. Missileman
Installing a wide band sensor in the factory O2 location will result in a shortened life span. You will find plenty of useful info here... http://wbo2.com/lsu/lsuinstal.pdf and here...http://www.techedge.com.au/ EDIT: not all WB equipment will allow you to simulate O2 readings that your computer needs so an O2 sensor may still be required. Ben C34
There's alot of info that says thats not the recommended spot.it is too hot. Some have no worries though, its your money and sensor to gamble. It would cost stuff all to get a bung welded onto the exhaust in the right spot. Thats what I am reccomending. Missileman
Cost me $25 for bung and my local exhaust shop to do the welding. My panel beater mate was enjoying burleigh heads at the time, so he cost me an extra 10er Edited February 28, 2014 by Missileman Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/439890-wideband-o2-sensor-in-narrow-band-factory-location/#findComment-7213961 Share on other sites
GTRPSI
Most run the narrow in the original place and place the wide further down away from the high temps. I still amazed to see so many running a wide band sensor very close to the turbo outlet and then complain that the sensor keeps failing and blame the brand fitted. Badgaz
cool thanks for all your inputs appreciate it. Given this i think i'll save my money and get the proper innovate kit with the innovate exhaust probe and just run it through boot along the side of the car and in the window. does anyone have any other knockblock recommendation. I've been looking at the link knockblock....they are about $800 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/439890-wideband-o2-sensor-in-narrow-band-factory-location/#findComment-7214030 Share on other sites

I've been looking at the link knockblock....they are about $800 its cheaper to rent tuner ears, but much more difficult to accept the results...
