Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone can help - the power steering belt on my car has slid off one or two of the grooves.

It started out as one groove which lasted around 10,000kms.. now its slid off two grooves and I'm starting to get a little worried.

The thing I don't really understand is, the belt is still true and straight - it's almost as if the pump has gone back a little.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to fix this?

Cheers :)

TL;DR - Power steering belt is starting to slide off, though its still straight and true - any pointers to fix?

Undo the adjustment bolts on the pump, refit or replace the belt and tension to spec.

It could be a number of things, misalignment of pump bracket,

Balancer is almost stuffed causing more harmonics in the belt to make it jump,

incorrect tension, etc.
