Hi Guys,

I just bought Nismo R-Tune coilovers with external reservoir which basically the same as the Ohlins. The spring rate are F: 9kg, R: 8kg.

I'm planning to use them as daily driving. do you know how to setup these for the street ?

They have 30 clicks adjustment for rebound ( top shocks knob ) and 20 clicks adjustment for compression (bottom reservoir knob )

what will be the optimal front and rear set-up rebound and compression setting for street use ?

what's the softest setting for rebound and compression ?

do you recommend changing spring rates for daily driving ? what are your recommendation ?

Please share your thoughts

Thank you very much

There's my thought: if you're going to use your car for daily driving, why not get the S-Tune suspension? You wouldn't have to worry about setting up the dampers too much either.

But, try running it around the middle and fiddle with the damper settings until it feels good to you. The spring rates are pretty stiff for the road, the R-Tune is mainly a track day suspension.

Had the S and R tunes on my own car.

S tunes are fine for the street, not so much for the track.

R tunes are very uncomfortable and definitely not designed for out roads. Changing spring rates will only get you so far, it's the valving which you need to change.

As a comparison, I had made custom Bilstiens for my car with spring rates of 14 F and 9 R. Around town they ride just as soft as stock suspension, believe it or not. There is a lot more to it than just a cheap and easy spring change.
