I'm at my last bits of collection before I start the built. I have the HPI6 from haltech and not even 5000km old coilpack harness and genuine coilpack.

Would you reckon going wirh R34 buil-in coil would be a better idea, stronger spark ? I heard the R32 coils last much longer Vs. R34 right ?

I would never use the factory R34 coils, as they become unserviceable fairly easily. I have used splitfires and have never had an issue, and have also heard that yellowjacket are also fairly good.

Not sure how much power you are chasing, but if the haltech ignitor was made for your car, you should run with it, unless given a reason not to. If your plugs are gapped properly, I doubt there will be a difference in spark.

Not really sure what this haltech does, but by the looks of it, it just ramps up the voltage for the coil packs. As long as each individual cylinder has it's own separate coilpack, then you can't go wrong. The only reason I would say 1 over the other is if they were banked setup, in which case it would limit the engine.

Of course if you are going for ridiculous power figures, ignore everything I said. :)

Factory coils are fine. The fact that they f**k up after 13 years hardly means you should avoid them.

Haven't you read how many people have had issues with yellow jackets? I personally know of 2. That's 2 failures out of the 2 sets of yellow jackets.
