...and you broke out in a cold sweat every time it rained in case there'd be nothing but a pile of rust left when you went back to it.

semi related, but as a 34r owner i have to admit that when i see a bnr34 with a ztune kit, regardless be it genuine or non genuine parts i find it a bit "cheap"

reminds me of the days when every one wanted a evo body kit on their lancers....

I think front bar is fine, side skirts and rear pods - fine, front guards - to far

A GTT no t with a Z-Tune kit is the same as a lancer with an EVO kit, def not right

This thread is shite. Of course some ppl get pissed off for seeing gtr badge on non-gtr skyline, cause you're claiming cred that you haven't earned. Like if you claim holding a kickboxing title when all you've done is throw a few roundhouse kicks into the bag hanging in the garage, ppl will go 'piss off u wanker'. Same principle.

I mean it's their car, they can do anything legally to it if they wanted too, its not like they put on your number plate pretending to be you etc

How can a GTR badge hurt or offend anybody making people stupidly react as if they saw Obama make out with Putin in their homes.

You see Holdens put on Chevvy badges yet you don't see anyone complaining here, well not as much as people here seeing a GTR badge then rolling and crying as if its the end of the world.

It kind of makes me laugh to myself when i browse through past forums and seeing posts like "wow nice car man, oh i take it back when i saw the GTR badge" or "dude why put on a GTR badge thats stupid"

Well not as stupid as they making a big deal out of a nice looking car and creating a fuss around a tiny symbol that has nothing to do with them.

Makes me want to put a GTR badge on Corollas, Civics and of course Skylines just to piss off over reactive people lol.

You sound more "butthurt" than anyone. Your profile says you drive a GTT - I made the connection and think everybody else here did too. If you want a GTR, go buy a GTR, or stick to your GTT until you can afford a GTR. No biggie if you don't have one or can't afford one, just don't make yourself out to look like a wannabe tool. It makes all of the guys with real GTRs look like tools too. Likewise, blokes who drive around in Commodores with Chev badges cop it heaps. I don't know what gave you the impression that they didn't. It's the same logic for them but perhaps not as bad, because they're not putting a performance label on their cars, just another brand. The GTR badge has legendary status and personifies the pinnacle of Japanese performance motoring. It is probably the most renowned car to come out of Japan. To stick it on a $4000, P-Plate Skyline bucket with stickers all over it and drift toys hanging off the tow hook is a sin. The misfit deluded owners who do this should be shot or put through counselling and/or psychotherapy.

What would you think if you saw a Ferrari badge on a Hyundai and the Ferrari logo sprayed on its hubcaps? Would you laugh at the owner's poor taste, total lack of class, and disregard for 'doing up' their car in a 'socially acceptable' manner, or would you be like "nope, I have total 100% respect for this bloke and his 11.5 Kw Korean banger with Ferrari branding"?

I recall seeing someone done it already & he wanted ~$35 for that "thing"...

Laugh, the Ferrari or GTR badge is not a sacred thing in my opinion.

If you think it is..... you may need to carry anusol wipes when you go out. For your butthurt. :nyaanyaa:

Maybe respect the people who designed and made the GTR and not a logo.

Bell_ringer_masturbator.gif?Bell_ringer_masturbator.gif?Bell_ringer_masturbator.gif?

Non GTR owner admiring his newly acquired fleabay fake GTR badge, given even the genuine badge was to much for them

At the end of the day it's not the GTR owners that are patheiticly trying to make their car look like something it's not

How is this not in the wasteland where it belongs

Hahaha the old chev badge on a Holden , well it is a chev engine .... Ls1 , l76 and l98. As for the gtr

Badges , if somone is goin around saying "this is my gtr !" But it's only a gtt then thats understandable , but some of us dont have 40+k to spend on a gtr . I love the look of them , so why not spend the 2g to make it look nice ..... The way I want it ...

If in doubt , power out.

I then wonder who was behind the minifilm production of the overdubbed Valkyrie clip of Hitler ranting about Chevy badges and VL commodores etc - so funny

They are General Motors Engines

Not Chevrolet.

I know I laugh at V6 commonwhores with chev badges, but chev badge on a chev powered car personally I have no issues with cause that is basically what it is

But the LS motors are also in Pontiacs and Cadillacs... :/

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
