Hey Guys, probably sick and tired of my questions, I’ve got a mate that’s just totalled his 350GT, engine bay was untouched and al is in working order, he will give me the engine for 300 dollars, which seems like a pretty good engine, he’s only done like 60K so far so it sounds pretty good. I know the installation will be a large cost but will there be many complications, I know the ECU will need to be swapped out, but is everything else in the car fairly similar? if anyone has done this before let me know.

Cheers.

You'll have to replace and splice the loom and plugs with it. It's not as easy as swapping the motor in.

The you have the issue of the 4spd tranny vs the 35 which runs a 5spd, which might mean headaches.

All in all, it's better off to sell up, and buy a real vq35, it's going to be cheaper too.

Lots of headaches. You would need to swap every ecu in the car along with the 5 speed auto. Better off going 6spd manual and a Haltech with the 3.5 conversion imo.

There are more differences than you would expect.

No purchases have been made, just asking, I’m not a mechanic, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask questions. Obviously I’m just curious and if cost outweigh benefit than I will not continue to look into this. I don’t see a problem with being curious, and as I mentioned I AM NOT A MECHANIC! If I was then I wouldn’t be here would I?? Just something to think about before hurling your abuse at me. I have little to no car knowledge, hence why I am asking questions so I can learn and hopefully help others one day.

I bid you good day Sirs.

As far as this thread goes, there has been no abuse hurled, what's your damn problem? We were only offering advice like you asked for... And it has all been asked before.

I AM NOT A MECHANIC!

I fix these cars for a living, and yet here I am, helping an ungrateful V35 owner yet again...
