Just weighin up where to mount turbo now im doing away with the twins..I have a GReddy high mountmanifold but the turbo sits more towards the rear, Other options are custom manifold with turbo mounted more forward or using an rb25 modded manifold.

What are your opinions?

I don't mean to put sh!t on you Ben for your comment,

but- Screw the law,

just paint everything matt black.

Police only seem to see shiney things, they tried to get me for my alloy radiator in my Stagea but failed to see the 90 x 700 intercooler in front and all black cooler pipes!

But to your question, I would suggest seeing how well your dump pipe will fit?

Between the turbo and fire wall.

Mount it where it fits

^^what he said. If you are getting a custom item take the whole car and turbo and wastegate to the fabricator so that he can ensure the dump pipe will have a clear run and you won't foul the strut tower (or anything else).

The further forward you mount it the more clearance you will have for the 4 inch dump. ;)

If you can bring it forward enough to clear the shock tower with the hot pipe you will be doing very well. Of course this means a custom manifold, which is a lot of work.

More than 350kw if you weld an external gate to your turbo housing.

You should do that ^ and report back, no one has a solid idea on the limit of the standard manifold. It is generally accepted that its about 350kw absolute max on stock mani with internal wastegate.

:)

will modify the stock manifold for more flow. should turn out pretty stock looking.

No real need, they flow ok for what they are, and thinning it out by die grinding will only weaken an already fragile cast manifold.
