Symptoms: Traction light is on, Slip light is on, Check Engine light is on

Computer: Power FC no hand controller

What I have tried: I have read up on line about the self diagnostics and am un able to get it to work by jumping the 2 spots on the diagnostic plug with a paper clip.

I switch the ignition on and get the paperclip into the last 2 slots and nothing happens. Is this because I have a power FC?

Can a leak in the power steering throw this problem?

I have checked coil packs and replaced spark plugs. The car drives but is very sluggish

If you can drop past Hampton Park I could plug the Consult3 into it...

Hopefully the PFC will communicate the way Nissan designed the stock engine ecu to, the rest of the computers should be fine to diagnose.

I dont think consult works with Power FC's, nor does bridging across the plug

This feature only works with the stock computer. This is why there is no aftermarket 'hand controller that plugs in the OBDII (?) Port

Thanks for your offer VQ35det but it looks like not event that might help at this stage.

89CAL - Will the power fc show where the problem is if I plug in a hand controller? Also is there any way that it can be related to the power steering leak?

It may show up in sensor/sw check, being that I've only ever dealt with R33 Power FC's which dont have to worry about T/C etc so I'm not 100% sure what differences there will be but, if its throwing a check engine light, most likely you will find the cause of this (if nothing else) on the Hand controller.

Usually a problem with a sensor or switch is the problem so sensor/sw check on the hand controller will show up (the problem sensor is highlighted in black) if there is one. Try and borrow one if you can and have a look

Had and still have a similar problem with my car, car drives fine but not Traction, ABS and the lights stay on all the time which is annoying. I could never find a real answer.

Had a quick look at the wiring diagrams I have. They are for R33 so it may not matter/correspond with the R34 but anyway.

there is one connection from the ECU to the A-LSD/ABS (and probably T/C on R34) unit. The outputs to the dash lights comes straight from the A-LSD/ABS ECU so I wonder if the Stock Engine ECU sends a signal to the A-LSD/ABS unit that the Power FC isnt sending. Perhaps a signal to activate power to the unit.

So if you take your car for a drive and see if the functions are working. because your slip and T/C lights are on and I'm not sure if this unit is controlling ABS in the R34 (unless you have an ABS or similar light on?) you may have to try and do a burnout. If its not tuned you could try it on the grass :). See if the ABS is working as well.

Then if possible find the wire from the ECU, unplug the A-LSD/ABS unit and check for a voltage on that pin in the harness plug with the Power FC plugged in and then with the Stock ECU plugged in and see if there is a difference?

Sorry I cant tell you where the A-LSD/ABS unit is, what pin you need to look at, and what exactly you need to look for but its a start I guess lol
