hey i was wondering if anyone has come across this problem with nissan datascan, it loads up and i have it plugged upto my car and when i click on connect it finds my ECU and connects to it and then the program shuts down without any error message and then the laptop shuts down. I had this problem once before and i remember that i figured out what was wrong and got it working but that was a few years ago and i carnt remember what i did to fix it. I took auto find and auto connect off and i set the port manually and i even tired changing the port number from COM3 to COM2 but it still shuts down on me, i thought it had something to do with port numbers but maybe i was wrong. If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it pls pls pls let me know cos its so fustrating lol

nah i just used a different program instead, i got lots of nissan scantool type of programs.

I will have another play with it and work out how to fix it again cos i did fix it last time but i just forgot what i done but i should be able to get it going if i spend a bit of time working on it.

Also does anyone here have the EcuXtend pocketpc program??

yeah i can use any other program like nistune, consult ect and they work fine. I tryed datascan scan on two laptops one with xp and other with windows 7 and still same issue. so im assuming its a driver issue. I need to use datascan for the hicas diagnostics

no worries josho i will try work out how to get it working again, i have done it before so i can do it again, i will start working out how to fix it tomorrow and i will let you know as soon as i work it out again
