Can't believe it. My mate found my car about 2ks away from where it got Stollen totally undamaged. Thanks for.all the.help in keeping an eye out guys!!! What a great result!!

That's brilliant; wasn't holding out much hope TBH.

Time to book her in for a far better immobiliser/alarm system. Especially if they have a way to move your car without damaging it.

Carbon Car Systems in Blacktown are a forum & SAU NSW club sponsor; they do great work.

How are they able to steal one of these without the key coder?

We need to find out how they do it, so we can fully protect our cars from the same, is there a scanner out there they are using?

What can I do to protect my car against this, run an additional 2 immobilisers on a separate alarm system?

my key has no transponder chip mate even my spare is just a generic metal locksmith copy it opens the doors and starts the car no problem. An imobaliser seem the only way to stop it from happening again. But I with you I'd love to know how the heck they even opened the doors!!

Yeah you very lucky, maybe they got spooked.

Ok, no transponder chip makes sense now. Easy to break into a car with no alarm unfortunately. Amateurs break stuff, pros do it quick and tidy.

Could be just a training day for someone?

Yeah, seriously any car you love, arm it to the teeth.

I've fitted hidden magnetic immobilisers to my cars, try to get a trustworthy guy to install a good alarm and hide the box well enough that it takes a crook longer than 30 seconds to find it.

30 seconds is the golden half minute, if it takes longer, most smart crimes will beat the feet out of there of try another car with no flashing alarm led light :)

Lots of cool forums on hidden immobiliser switches, imagination is all it takes and NEVER TELL ANYONE :)

Even make a man trap with amperage through the seat via a coil and small spring :) just need a warning sticker " man trap active "

Burn some arse..may as well :)

My car came with one of these when I bought it. Personally, I am not sure how exactly it's wired in, but my mirrors do not automatically fold in when the car is locked - not a massive issue as you can fold the mirrors in manually with a flick of a switch.

Does anyone know if this would be considered an Australian standard of immobilizers? If not, I'd need to change it in order to comply with my insurance too :\

I seriously need to do this to mine, my key shell is damaged and im scared of this happening. My spare is a normal locksmith key to.

Massive wake up call for all of us im sure.

Glad you got your car back mate in one piece and undamaged. Lucky!

If you yank all the wires out does the car start?

I've seen plenty of cheap made in Vachina style alarms that when loom is yanked out the car can easily be started, which is ridiculous.

Best is to find out exactly how the immobilisers work.

My last alarm was quite cheap, but the way the immobilisers worked, even if they yanked the box out, the car still couldn't be started.

A mate installed it for me so knew which cheap alarms were good.

End of the day it is just a deterrent, a big flashing alarm led is a good start.

I wouldn't mod it for a while mate. Who knows, they could have read this and are going to wait for the new parts before they steal it again.

I would be more Suss on the fact nothing was broken or touched.

Just incase someone is reading this to see who has what alarms. My car has fricken laser beams that will kill you dead if you break into my car :D
