I have two of them in my boot in a sub box. They are shit hot and work very well. nice clear and deep bass. Played with both classic, dance, trance, house and grunge/rock. Use original CDs and mp3s. Great bass reprocussion on normal cds (of course) and sounds very clear and crisp. This is in my r33 skyline. Previous subs were 2 x clarion 10" and they were good (they were ported however in a vl to the parcel shelf) but the apline type-s are shit hot, much better than the clarions

its hooked to a monbloc amp and an alpine cda9807 head unit can give full specs if you want and more photos if you like. very good subs i got them on special

alpine type-r splits in the front (amped by 4 channel amp)

alpine type-s coaxial cabin speakers in the rear parcel shelf 2 ways (amped by 4 channel amp)

alpine type-s 12" subs in a sub box (amped by monobloc amp)

alpine cda9807 head unit

alpine ainet to rca adapter lead

all of that with sub box installed for $1850

zylex in dash dvd player (already had it)

carrozerria dash mounted colour lcd tv (already had it)

fantastic system for both audio / cds / mp3s and dvds (tv works while driving too :D

I have got a single Alpine SWS-1241 in my car... Its the double drive version, which i think kicks a little more.

Great for what i want it for, and in conjunction with a powerful monoblock kicks some good bass for a variety of different styles of music. You'd probably want 2 of them like paulR has for even better kick.

I think i paid about $160+postage for 1x about 12 months ago (near new). I think they were only about $220 each new 12 months ago though so not sure whether its any bargain or not you're getting :D
