The car doesn't exist, he uses this as a marketing tool to lure people in to check out his shop.

That add has been on his website for at least a year.

Basically - buyer calls saying they are interested in this car, EL says, we just sold it, but i have others in the same condition and in stock now, come past the dealership and i'll show you...

Is bait and switch advertising legal?

Bait and switch advertising involves advertising a small number of goods at low prices to entice customers to your business. When the advertised goods quickly run out, customers are switched to higher-priced goods.

It is an offence to advertise goods for sale knowing that you will be unable to supply those goods for a reasonable period. You are responsible for ensuring that there are enough supplies available to cover a sale. You still may not be able to meet the demand during a sale but you should have at least planned for it and have reasonable stock or offers available. This is not just common sense, it’s the law.

What is reasonable will depend on the type of product, the context of any advertisement and your previous trading experience. The period of offer should also be made clear in the advertisement.

If an offer is available for a limited period then put this in the advertisement. If stocks are genuinely limited, such as a clearance sale, say so in the advertisement.

When you can’t meet the demand, you may offer to supply the advertised item to customers at a later date eg. a ‘raincheck’. This generally avoids customer dissatisfaction as well as indicating that the advertising was genuine. Alternatively, you can supply equivalent goods immediately and at the advertised price if the customer accepts.

And if Phil told me (as I'm looking for a car at EL) that Skylines Aust rubbishes him (as stated on his vids), I'd be intrigued all the more to see what SAU had to say; wouldn't you?

Hey guys... This car is up for sale again on edward lees website still claiming 51000km....

Seems like he just put a new set of rims on.

These people will continue to mislead until they are closed for good.

Just watched video, don't know why he changed rims, and the stereo in it is mine.. it's a sony one.. I bought it in JBHIFI..

Today's update.

Another user in the forum offered me a car.

It's a MP3 VS1 from JDM Performance.

Here are some pics of it:

It had done genuine 9X,XXX Km.

To be honest I am flattered by the passion from all you guys.

I am very glad that I've met you guys here and only regret I haven't met you earlier so I wouldn't end up with dodgy dealer like EL.

Hope it's never too late to join the party.

Rare HKS2530s on her too!
Plus nice number plates on it!

Plus the owner even has 2 sets of RAYS Duralumin nuts (red n black) with exactly the same lock nut code. Fancy that for being picky!

Jump caused the timing belt to jump teeth, yeah right....

All rays duraluminum wheel nuts have the same lock nut socket.

Those 34s you have been offered are very nice, what are they selling for?

Hope you get your deposit back, sorry those nobs from mcm took you for a ride. I have asked Japodocheck to do a check on my s15 just for interest sake.

.

When JLM inspected the engine it was the consensus amongst their mechanics that timing belt had jumped teeth due to an attempt to tow start it in 1st gear.

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
