ok guys ive got 2 things my car is doing at the moment and im just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

1. my car wont start in the morning, itll turn over and then when it does fire the revs are real low and will stall unless i hit the accelerator in and out real fast, then its fine and idles perfectly.

2. this mostly happens at night time when its cold, when i put my foot down the car boosts to max boost but just doesnt seem to go anywhere, it holds 13psi but seems to have no acceleration. i have a leak in my cooler where there are 3 bolt holes with nothing in them but i had the car tuned and it went fine, when i found the bolt holes and put bolts in them it did the same thing and i was told it was because the timing was to retarded and it wasn't reading the a/f ratios properly or something? anyway its doing the same thing now but i've taken the bolts out.

both of these things have started happening in the past month or so and ive had this cooler on for like 8 or 9 months so i dont think its because of that.

any ideas??

cheers...brett

Sounds a LOT like a CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) problem.

I know that with my R33. Untill it warms up it dosn't matter how much I try to boot it. It's not going anywhere (it makes full boost as well) . There was a thread about this a while ago and what people were finding it was MOSTLY happening when the engine was sitting at 61degrees (Mine does it till it warms up). Untill it warms up it will just keep ripping the timing out of the car. I'm using this as more of a good thing than a bad (I know its not a good thing) because it means that I have altered my driving style to allow the car to warm up properly before I try to do anything. As for the Starter problem I don't know what that could be. I would assume that it is Cas related as well.

Hope this helps

mine did this recently at higher revs .. dodgy connection to O2 sensor due to SAFC connection becoming loose. From 4000rpm -> 7000rpm was dead as a donkey.. now its all fixed and screaming.

Check/swap both your O2 sensor and AFM. Its more likely to be these. If you have an aftermarket BOV - try swapping in a stocker to check that.

You can also have a big boost leak and still reach 13psi - your turbo will just be working a hell of a lot harder to get there (had this problem before also).

I honestly belive that It would be the CAS problem because my car does the EXACT same thing as that.. With the start up I'm not sure about.

to check the cas you need to replace it/borrow one/ steal one... what ever

I Don't know how to check a CAS anyother way...
