V36 Video Playback

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows what format the V36 plays on the onscreen display?

Tried .avi, .mp4, none of them work by the CF memory card playback, or would the screen only play when it is copied over to the Harddrive

The CF only works for audio (MP3 and WMA).

Video is only via DVD or the auxiliary input.

DVD is region 2 NTSC. Aux in takes NTSC as well.

I always wondered about the region because I've played region 1, 2 and 4 without issue. Obviously region 4 was the greater surprise since it is PAL format. Considering mine works even when driving and the wiring loom was not modified for the handbrake and vehicle speed sensor, I'm wondering if my headunit has been modified somehow.

Interesting. Tried that with one and it didn't like my Garfield disc. Yet I put a jap promo DVD in and it ran.

Yer mine will play some jap anime dvd's I have, but nothing from any other region.

I've played region 1, 2 and 4 without issue too, only thing i did was loom for handbrake.

same here, got video in motion and any dvds work 2008 type s manual

My 07 played a regular Pal Region 4 (Entourage from JB Hi Fi).

Perhaps earlier V36's were region free?
