Courier Ute Wont Rev Past 3K

Hi,

I have a Ford Courier Ute. It appears the engine won't rev past 3k and at 3k it blows lots of white smoke, otherwise the engine is running fine.

The water sedimentor warning light is on also.

Could my turbo be stuffed or something more major?

white smoke= oil which means probably turbo's stuffed

Typically you would address a warning light and then see if that fixes the problem.

As skylines don't have diesels in them you will struggle to get help here.

New to diesel engines, but yes I plan to address that tommorow when the weather comes right.

Yeah I understand there really aren't that many forums out there for my vehicle specifically, this being australian might help. *Shrugs*

What year model?

1999 with 06 engine, 2wd.

im only guessing here but Doesn't water light mean you need to clean out your fuel filter?

Yup quick google tells me water in the fuel system..

Which is a big no no for diesels...pull fuel.filter and it will probably have a water separator there will need cleaning or replacing...

Also it is not runing right, so why are you reving it to 3k...its a diesel dude...they dont like to rev to 3k at the best of times...usually about 2-2500 all they need..

so

1..clean out water in fuel system

2..stop reving it so hard cause its clearly not running right...or you will blow something if you haven't already..
