I'm looking at putting a push button start and kill switch in a track car(so security isn't a concern) just wondering if anyone's done it? I want to eliminate having a key to start it, and have 3 stage switching for acc, on, and then the start button with a kill switch, any help or diagrams I could get hold of?

Cheers

So you still want a key to turn it to acc and on?

If you still want a key, is there any reason in particular why you want a start button?

And you want a start button and a kill switch to stop the engine or to isolate the battery (remove power from everywhere)

you could consider something like this:

Ebay Link

If OP says what exactly he wants I might be able to make up a little wiring diagram

This.

Does the OP want a single push button that starts the engine as well as stops it, similar to most modern keyless style vehicles?

If so this is far more sophisticated and complicated than a race car warrants.

Yeah thats why the one ive linked is probably better. Can just hook on/acc up to the rocker switch and push button straight to the starter so you can kill it with the rocker switch and then have a few switches for anything else like launch control, anti lag, intercooler sprayer. Whatever you want

If you want a push button on off switch then yeah that will require a specialised unit or some sort of circuit to be made up

With the start button, if you have provision for an oil pressure switch you can even wire it up to inhibit start when the thing is running
