The G1 profile is equivalent to a 2871 52T, not alot larger then the OEM wheels, you can count it as a slightly bigger steel wheel rebuild rather then high flow. Works fine on factory ecu and stock auto.

The current project high moving towards some thing that makes power but more importantly drives nicely on stock auto. Im currently building a special SS2 using T3x bearing housing and Ceramic ball bearings for throttle response.

Should help with the bigger diameter disc

The actual size of the disc on the intense billet rs is smaller then a certain turbo pictured next to it... It's in the disc placement and porting of it where the gains are. The actuator travel being the biggest gain. Also disc size means nothing if porting isn't done to suit. Pictures of porting will follow from both turbos to show a comparison.

I suspect the larger disk without porting the hole sufficiently actually limits the flow of the gate.

putting my intense Rs turbo in this morning! Keep you all posted on results. Gorgeous bit of kit!!

Too slow Nathan, mine is in and running 30psi already. :P

Feels more responsive on the road, makes more boost on the converter when stopped and it's not even tuned yet. Need to fatten up the spool areas of the fuel map so it must be flowing more in that region. See how the tune goes tomorrow.

Looks like we are on a winner here Rick. Thanks for the help designing it, was worth all the late nights. Time to get down to Calder for a run.

I was referring to a bigger disc vs OEM. Here is the porting on my Hypergear post-49288-14482552318983_thumb.jpgpost-49288-14482552618726_thumb.jpg

The bigger problem with the M35 high flow is not boost creep but response.

Is this unit ball bearing?

I prefer the turbine style of the unit on the right in the video its a more efficient design. I expect it would make more average power over the unit on the left which looks similar specs to my Hypergear rev4. Lakes101 pic shows a different turbine again if I can see it correctly which is a good design(curved)

not bad time wise for my first turbo install I think calling you so many times slowed me down lol [emoji12]

Thanks for the help Scott I'll be taking it for a beating tomorrow and let you know how it all goes!

Lakes 101 has the same turbo as the left one in the video. I no this as we built 4 identical units. For those who couldn't tell, the other turbo in the video is the noisey Hypergear ss2 rev2. It is definetly not more efficient or responsive then the intense billet rs, should have some results tomorrow. As far as wastegate porting goes not very impressed by the porting on yours as he has ported through the inlet track of the turbine. And it isn't even matched to the flapper valve.

On the video you've uploaded earlier, I've noticed the right hand actuator has a spring hooked on to the base. Will you be able to repeat the test with that spring removed?

Yes that's not a problem at all. I can repeat the test with a standard actuator. Will do so asap.

The inlet track to the turbine is opened up all the way around. It even injects air under the turbine by about 40% Do you think this is why I have 20psi at 4700rpm and when running 25psi it goes from 25 at 4850 to 18psi at 6500..

    • January or Feb is it booked in for turbo fitment?
    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
    • appreciated it thanks   There are threads on the adaptor. I rear re anodising but didn’t know it will reduce strength   re mating services needing to be flat/ not painted, why would that be? I am devastated as car been off for a year, fixed power steering then installed bm57 master cylinder and just before driving it this came up. So annoyed   worried and afraid to drive it, no fun caliper coming off
