I just got so annoyed by people keep saying that I could do a u turn or reverse back out, the road was no wider than a bus lane, and the longest stright line would be less than 150 meters, so it's simply just coner after coner, and the middle of the road is so high so I have to stick to one side of the road as well, I just want tell people that I had no choice but drive forward and people just don't believe me and blame me for the damage which made me lose control. I'm not saying you guys are wrong, as if I stopped at the first 200 meters my car would be saved but as I said earlier, I only thought it's just a bad condition road to a beautiful photo place, and the first part of the road wasn't that bad compare to the end part where I stopped several times. So please take my deepest apology and please

understand the situation back there.

I feel your pain and didn't expect any of this to happen, I hope everything get sorted out fast.

And this won't happen again, I'll assure you and everyone of that.

Please keep us updated with the car

Lowered?

Let it go on record that when this car was sold to n11smo, it was 103mm (legal under traffic law) at the front lip and the Kakimoto 90mm exhaust never came below that.

What further suspension work was done and what the settings were 2 days ago, I'm not sure.

Let me know when you do we'll do a run away :)

If I'm at my new place in sutho count me in for a quick run if you'd like the company

How far is the route from Hornsby side roughly?

I would love to go for the Recce if you guys are planning to go for a run... and if the time permits..

Let me know when you want to do this I'll come for a run with you, for the fun of it :)

No worries mate, would be great to have some helping hands if this cruise gets a little crazy.

Pm me anyone who would wanna help with this. Thanks in advance.

I totally get what you mean but if you were there you would understand, if I did a U turn there the car would be stuck and a tow truck would be needed and worse damage would be done to the car, the best way there and I believe anyone who was there would agree with me is to just crawl in where the first avaliable place to do a u turn and come out by crawling again and I made several stop during the crawling and the car behind me kept an eye on my car as well, it was not becos I think "they can go in so I can go as well" I didn't get any chance to get out! The first avaliable place to do a u turn was where we stopped any point before that I would totally ruined my car. What really happened was the car is already f**ked up and I did what's best to reduce the damage, I didn't go all the way because I think I maybe can and blame the organiser later, I couldn't do anything back there! The orginiser was lucky I didn't punch him right in the face and if I see him again I will and one punch will not be enough! Im not joking and if you think I'm threatening him you are not wrong! Yes! I am threatening him! That's how serious and angry I am And I am really pissed off now. And please don't say things like you know everthing and others are just idiots, after all it is my car and you think I would do anything to harm it?! I choose to go in as that was the minimum damage could be done on my car! Hope that clear things a bit! And I do thank you for your reply and concerns about my car I really appreciate that!

Alright, a few things here:

  • threatening to cause physical harm to ANYONE via a public forum can cause major issues for the parties involved, especially the one making the threats. I am very glad that that has been retracted (it has, hasn't it???). You might want to take a step back before you hit that "Post" key, take a breath, and re-read what you've typed before letting it free on the internet where it will remain FOREVER, with the ever-present risk of it haunting you later in life.
  • SAU as a forum, nor SAU-NSW as a club, are not responsible for any unofficial events that are posted here, nor any damage that may occur at an unofficial event.
  • Please remember that, after all is said and done, it is still just a car. As hard as you've worked, as much as you've saved, and as often as you've chosen to go without other things in your life so you could afford your dream, it can still be either repaired or replaced. And much more easily than a family member or friend, or even a pet.

A few other observations:

  • organising a cruise for a whole bunch of performance-oriented cars like these is always a great idea if it is well thought-out and run. Blindly leading them onto a dirt track (or even a rough road), with absolutely no warning, is not very smart. Nor is the lack of a map/itinerary for the day, as per Terry's suggestion early in the thread.
  • I can kinda understand why Edifier is feeling the way he is - I'd be majorly upset too if I was pretty much forced to follow down a similar stretch of road at the risk of damaging my car, but I've had the odd scrape here and there in my car. Yes, I was extremely annoyed at the time. But as the saying goes, "Shit happens," and all we can do is get over it and cover our bases in the hope that it doesn't happen again.

Ha ha terry,my lol girl is prob 200 ride height no bumpin or scrapen for me, wonder how many are as old an still like mine these days. Lol. :-)

Well to be fair - my old girl lowest point is sitting at 100mm now... actually measured by a cop in Brisbane... got fined because the flange was like 2 mm lower than that wheel they use to measure with one person sitting inside... i didnt scrape anything (phew) - i think also because i have been offroading in the past with 4x4's the placing of the wheels through the route is important - like a stretch everyone was on the left i hung on the right and placed the wheels on a higher path...

What's with the internet jockeys bagging him out without themselves being there on the day to know all the facts of that particular situation?

I think is it extremely irresponsible of the organiser for not informing all participants of the cruise that there will be a very long (many kms) stretch of dirt track. This, to me, is absolutely ludicrous.

I empathise with the owner of the damaged R34 GTR Vspec 2 in that he (amd the rest) was effectively given little choice or warning about the upcoming conditions and once on that track, he was left between a rock and a hard place.

I don't blame him for making threats - I too would be more than a little pissed off if I was put in that situation. Glad to see that he has calmed down as that won't help anyone at all. Unfortunately, the situation is what it is and he will have to foot the bill for the repairs.

If there is anything that I can do to help in fixing your car, I will do what I can and am happy to help in any way.

Yeah that was stupid of me, I shouldn't say that, and I do apologize for what I said and I mean no harm and tbh I never punched anyone in my life not even as a kid… I was simply just angry and I will take full responsibility if I have to. I was extremely upset yesterday as the damage is way bigger than what I expected, the exhaust has multiple bents and leaking point, the carbon fiber rear diffuser has more than 50 scratches and dents, side, front, and lip needs repaint, the buzz noise I mentioned earlier was the rear LSD (so I was right on the day) and it could be damaged but my 34 has power FC instead of the stock ECU so we couldn't diagnos by computer, also the front bumper is cracked and.the water tank and radiator were empty but we did an presure test today it is not leaking, nut Adam at JLM mentioned it could be a tiny hole that it's leaking vibrations so when the car is up and running we further test will be needed. So far that's the damage we already found, fingers cross hope nothing come up anymore.

The other reason I pissed off is on the day people told me no need to worry anything as it should be fine, and I was very unhappy on the day which I think could be easily tell by my face and I was so worried and had the car checked out first thing in the next morning and it is beyond my expectations and I was even prepared to hear bad news, just wouldn't think it's that bad, it's like you know you are sick but you just wouldn't think it's stage IV lung cancer and it had spread all over the body.

Thank you very very much for your understanding!

Forgive my ignorance but the buzz noise you mentioned on the day we all heard at idle with the car parked in neutral. A differential doesn't spin at idle in neutral?

I would just like to ask at this point cos I've never dealt with them, but JLM are legit aren't they? I was in the car behind you and on this dirt road section I didn't see you move fast enough or hit anything with enough force to do this kind of damage, I am literally amazed. I was watching everything that came out from under your car and I could see only little stones. Like smaller than a golf ball at less than 10km/h and yes I was watching the speed. I'm not trying to cause more pain I'm just stunned that it could do that sort of damage

TBH me too, that's why I was so pissed yesterday cos the problem is way bigger than the expectations. I just did a service with JLM 2 weeks before that and nothing was wrong with the car and I haven't driven the car since then, also we all took pictures before we hit the dirt road which also shows that the car is in perfect condition. The buzz noise is confirmed to be the ATTESA E-TS 4WD PRO system as the computer cannot cope dirt road and it was continuesly let the system on and off, affer all R34 was not built to run dirt road. I was too busy the the previous two days as I need to work and I spend all my free time at JLM. I tried to uploaf pictures via my phone but it seems to be just uploading forever. I take a day off today and finally I can up load some pictures using my computer.
