ok guys im only new at this and i dont even know if i am in the right place but here go's.

i have a 1994 r33 rb25det s1 and my check light is on the dash...

the light comes on for a while then goes out for about 5 sec then appears again for a min or so then go's out for a couple sec and so on

i have done some reading and i have learnt how to bridge to loom to do a diagnostic, but the problem is the engine light dose not flash any codes at me when i do this

can anyone tell me why this is and how can i get the codes out of my ecu

this is my first skyline i have owned

any help will be muchly appreciated

ok maybe you arnt bridging the right pins, turn your ignition on and when you bridge the pins the engine light will turn on, keep it bridged for a few seconds and then release the pins and the engine light will flash your codes at you. The only alternative is to hook it upto a consult program an a laptop using something like datascan, you will need a special cable to do this

What ecu are you running? The consult port will only work with a standard ecu.

As for the port itself, it's called 'Consult' and is pre OBD2. You need to get a special cable and software to use it. Check this out:

that is a very good point, if you are bridging those exact pins in the picture and nothing is happening you may have an aftermarket ecu, some are a full replacement and some just change the circuit board in the original one, rip the passenger side kick panel off and have a look, if you see apexi or something like that on it then its aftermarket
