Horrible Idle!

Hey guys, I recently replaced my rb20det turbo with a rb25 turbo and dump.

Now that it's all back together it will idle fine from start up untill I drive it down the street and stop. Then it will idle at 800rpm like usual but then drop to about 100rpm and then back up and down.. It some times even stalls.

I need ideas on what it could be! I've tripple checked every thing to see if every thing is back on, no air leaks.

I'd love to get some feed back because I can't get my head around it now!

Does it drive/boost/cruise okay? Did you change anything else at the time? What happens if you drive, stop and then give it gas to stop it stalling?

Yeah drives perfect, it's just the idle that's wrong. I have changed nothing else except for the turbo and dump.

If I stop and it does it and I give it a rev it just revs haha.

Blow off valve is all plumbed in, Im thinking the IAC to!

Easy enough to take off the IAC and clean it, in fact it's on my list of things to do this weekend. There's a guide to cleaning the IAC on here somewhere. Let us know how you go.

So I Took of the IAC tonight, Cleaned it up and put it back on. This stupid idle still happens! haha Im Starting to get angry about it now!

Stock ECU? Try Resetting it.

already done that, Even put a new computer in it haha, It still does it Not cool.

The iac may actually be faulty. Or the idle adjustment may be too far out that the ecu is struggling to keep it under control

Its just weird though that it was perfectly fine before i took the turbo off to put a 25 turbo on. Now it doesnt like it. At first I just thought that maybe the computer had to relearn itself.

I live on the north side and last week I had Tafe at Archerfield. In the morning I drove to archy and it didnt Idle Funny at all. On the way home it was a diffrent story! It stalled 5 times and idled really badly. Then last night I went up Mt mee and every time i would stop it was idle shit house.

Something else happened when you swapped turbos.

That's the only explanation.

Have you checked for boost leaks by pressure testing? Just looking at clamps doesn't cut it.

No I havnt actually done a pressure test haha, Ill end up having a play around next week end and see how it gos!
