Hey all

looking at diffs for my r33 gtst series 2 track car.

The car is mainly for 200 meter runs. But also mucking around at drift stuff.

So im after grip and heavy acceleration!

Whats the ratio of the standard diff?

What would you recommend 1.5, 2way etc?

And what ratios for flat out acceleration?

Plus strength

cheers

Yes keep the housing.

If you get a Cusco one you can adjust it all the way from 2 way to 1 way according to your preference but most people seem to go for Nismo. Or you can get a 2nd hand GTR diff but then you have to make changes to suit the 6 x 1 bolt pattern.

Hey guys had a 2-way in my 32 and kinda got over the clunks/jerks and now looking to put the power to both wheels in the 33..

I'm unsure what to do with a stock auto diff.. do I still have 1, 1.5 way options in the ratios the auto uses?

Also it will have a shift kitted box with 250+, so I'm guessing a shimmed diff wont like that power for long. Trying to maintain good drive aswell as being able to have both wheels putting power down.

1/4 mile and cruising only.

sounds like your ideal diff would be helical. But that's another kettle of fish finding one. They did come in late model R34 manual turbos but rare as f**king hens teeth and wreckers wouldn't know one if it hit them in the head.

/\ ive found a S15 helical 4.08, which is a swap over using s15 6-bolt shafts also..?

I did that to my R32. Put it into R32 housing with R33/4 4.11 gears and S14 half shafts and driveshafts. It's a real bitsa, but it works. The only downside will be if I start finding the strength limits of the 3x2 bolt CVs.
