Hey guys, i bought my R32 GTS-T with a ugly non Type M front bumper (kinda looks like the ones that come with 4 doors) but anyways, i really want to get a different bumper onto it. I have longed for a GTR fibreglass replica, but have heard some nightmare stories about them breaking really easily. Since my car is quite low, i have a feeling it wouldnt take long to break one. Im thinking about a standard R32 GTS-T Type M front bumper, does anyone have any pics of their fmic mounted behind a Type M front bumper?

Any ideas? Should i take a chance with the GTR bumper, or go the GTS-T.

Cheers

Hi,

I also recently purchased a R32 GTS-t. When I inspected the car it had a GTR bar and lip on it (most probably a replica but unsure if it's fibreglass). Anyways, luckily the previous owner kept the Type M bar and was good enough to install it back on before I took ownership.

Anyways, when I test drove the car (when it still had the GTR bar on it) it was fine over most roads. Going over standard speed bumps was fine. Going up driveways that were mildly inclined (say approx 10 degrees) was a hassle though. Had to angle the approach to avoid scraping the lip. I'm pretty sure if I had kept the GTR bar on the car I would've damaged it already (I've only owned the car for 2 weeks).

I think if I took the lip off then it would be about the same height off the ground as the Type M bar. But it'd look funny. Anyways, if you're installing a big FMIC then the GTR bar would be better cos of the larger intake area. The Type M bar has a reasonable intake but the GTR bar is definitely bigger. (My car doesn't have a FMIC btw).

I still have the GTR bar and lip sitting around. Personally I won't be putting it back on. It's too much of a hassle trying to not scrape it (the Type M bar also scraps but on very steep driveways, or driveways that start with a deep drain/trough). I think what it boils down to is whether the larger intake area affects the performance of your FMIC, and what sort of commitment you can afford to put into living with a GTR bar. Sure, it looks better but are you willing to put up with the downsides for the looks? That's what you have to ask yourself. For me, the choice was simple. I couldn't be bothered dealing with the added hassles; plus I think the Type M bar looks pretty good, if a little understated.

Sorry mate but I'm not interested in selling the GTR bar at this present time. I may get the urge to install it again if I tire of the Type M bar. :P
