Hi all..

Just wondering if I can use my neo pistons and rods in an r33 block with an r33 crank?? Not sure of series 1 or 2 if that helps..

My neo crankshaft has an overly flogged out keyway and my block has a crack from a water jacket to the head stud.. also has been decked twice so wouldn't bother repairing the crack and decking again..

Got the r33 bottem end free so want to make use of it if I can..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Cheers

Wait, the 33 and 34 heads are different. The neos are smaller cc's right? So if you put 34 pistons on, the comp ratio would be really low on a 33 head right? But you have a neo head? You just want to know if the 33 block is the same as r34 yeah?

Most people reckon the blocks and cranks are the same but the rods are RB26 , so the pistons have to have larger diameter gudgeon pins and a lower crown to get the same CR with the smaller Neo chamber . IMO minimum changes to the R33 short are rods and pistons to run the Neo head .

Sorry, but I am going to be 'that guy' here.

So if I was to forge my neo, so I can run more boost, would I need to change the crank and rods? Obviously pistons are a must, but if I balance the crank, and the rods (if they are 26) should be pretty strong ay?
