What Is This...? Card Reader.

Just curious as to what this is?

I don't have the card reader in the glovebox near the DVD player, so I'm assuming it has something to do with that.

Can I rip it out?

Is it connected to the sensor on the dash? Or are they two totally separate things?

Hahah, its about credit card size.

It would be like an E-tag sort of thing in Japan and you would use your credit car or a dedicated card like a phone card and they charge the toll to that

Mine had the dash mounted receiver when I purchased it, along with the manual for the ETC (electronic toll collection) unit in the glove box, but no actual ETC unit.. I guess someone had removed it beforehand. so I just removed the receiver.. The system doesn't work in Aust anyway.
