C34 Double Din

Hi Guys,

I just wondering if there any clearer picture of their Double din setup that has the 2 din, A/C controller, and stock boost gauge. I seen that it cuts out the bottom bit and install the A/C controller on the cup holder or blank section. I just need a clearer picture if possible.

Not quite sure what you're asking? When I tossed out the stock CD player, I put the single din AC unit on the bottom position if that is what you're thinking about doing. The metal frame needs a bit of work on the holes to fit the unit properly.

This is the sort of setup I'm looking for. If you can see where the a/C controller is mounted. I need more details or clearer picture how that setup is achieved.

Take out the DIN rack and see for yourself. The drink holders can be removed, but its not a standard DIN slot, so you will have to do some custom brackets if the rack for the drink holder doesn't match. I thought about doing it years ago, but it wasn't worth the hassle.

I thought about doing it like that aswell, but decided not to hack it up and just loose the factory gauges and get some decent ones instead..

hmmm perhaps I have to lose the standard boost gauge. But I'll check it out anyway and see what's underneath it. I did saw some japanese mount the A/C controller in the Glovebox which I don't want to.

So from the looks of it, we do have to cut the bottom part off completely.

On second observation, the 2nd picture in the middle showing what looks like the dash hasn't been cut off? Hmmm so confusing lol. Maybe really have to open up and see how can custom fit it nicely, without being looks like "R2D2" into dash.

By the looks of it the middle photo, shows that you're able to fit it without cutting the din's surrounding and it'll still fit.

You can see how there's a much greater gap between the little storage beneath it and the A/c control. Whether as the other two, they cut the din's surrounding making it a complete 4 din slot.

Am I making sense?

Pretty much, you can cut the din's surrounding/facia or leave it.

I've been thinking about doing this for a while now too.. really like rhe gauges where they are (dont like sticking them all over the column and wherever else) but want a double din stereo.. following thread with much interest

Ok I won't be able to do this quick yet. Need to source another stereo surround just incase I stuffed it up I like to be prepared. But anyone want to do it before me, you are more than welcome to do it first
