Guys i have stock 33gtr wheels on a stock r33 gtr and was wondering what tyre size i should upgrade to.

i was thinking

255 55 17 instead of the 245 45 17.

i would get 255 40 17 as tempe tyres has them for $160.00 a corner, but it drops the car 8.5mm lower and the spoiler hits everything as it is already.

Will a profile of 55 be too big and rub inside when turning the front wheels?

I need to raise the car a little bit as the spoiler hits everything and i want to fill the void (between the tyre and rest of the car).

Any help would be much appreciated.

A different tyre size is not an "upgrade".

255/55 will be far too tall. If you were to go up to a 255 you would only do it with the same as the original profile....that being 45. The tyre will be 4 or 5mm taller in the sidewall, which is probably about the limit. A 55 profile in that width would be 30mm taller in the sidewall! And I will include another few !!!!!! just to reinforce that point.

Buy the standard size as first preference. Second preference would be 255/45. There is no other good option.

Tyre profile is not there for altering the ride height of the car. If you have a problem with bits of the car hitting bits of the environment, then you need to adjust the suspension to raise the ground clearance of the car.

Hi there, when nissan designed the gtr the designed godzilla. So 245-45-17 as nissan recommended would be the best size for it. We have 245-45-17 kumho ku36 performance tyres available.
