This has probably been covered before, but I thought I would start a new thread for some fun especially with the popularity of E85 these days.

So, post up times of completely unopened OEM RB26 GTR's 1/4 mile times:

A quick search gives me:

XRATED: - [email protected] (R32, 396rwkw)
Tynago: - 10.7@137 (R33)

DVS Jez: - [email protected] (R32, 402rwkw)

GO!

Sorry to get off topic here a little. Isn't that gtr still running a H box. Does anyone know.??? I've seen the attachment that makes it shift that way but I just can't remember the name. Help.

No, [NITTO] runs an OS88 Sequential 6-speed.

You are referring to the Ikeya Formula Sequential Shifter that can be used with the OEM H-Pattern:

wow... that was a long time ago..... that was before 98 was even available at the pump in Tassie, little own E85! ha ha ha

... well hoping to run a little quicker next year with a new engine (and everything else).

Cheers

Justin

Yeh I did 11.30 @ 127mph stock engine stock head 98 octane with t517z turbos

XKLABA did 11 flat I think stock engine stock turbos

11.3@125 stock every thing in full weight R32

11.1@123 new HG and big ends bearings on drag radials with 293rwkw

Would still be interesting to see the results, Simon.

Thanks for the info guys.

I would think that with these engines getting older (25 years now), that it would be hard to beat those previous times (10.6's!)

My 33 has run 11.5@126mph weighing 1760kg with only -5's, ecu, fuel pump and injectors on E85. Bigger cooler and exhaust should help.

I might give it a crack while I get my built engine ready and see what happens :D

Last year on a unprepped runway (Racewars) I did a high 10 @ 136mph with approx 640hp at the hubs

Same runway this year I was doing similar times and trap speeds but with a passenger and a full tank on fuel with around 700hp at the hubs revving to 8000rpm

With a few more revs and less 150kgs of passenger and fuel I would hope I'd be around 140mph+

Might give it ago when the drags open back up over here but the gearbox may not like it

I've often thought about getting a good condition unopened 26 and slappin on all my 'big' bits and seing just how far it would go. Willall did it back in the day, but with a freshened up 'to stock specs' engine... so it doesn't really count.

It'd be cool to run 9's/140mph+ on an un opened engine in a true street GTR. We'd allways be at a disadvantage to stipped out auto GTR's though.
